I don't know about anyone else but to me this whole invasion thing was just horribly dull, the most exciting episode in the arc was Arrow's (which was quite a surprise) and that was because much of it was spent away from it in their dream where we got to see truly interesting things happening rather than poorly balanced powers to threat level that really should have precluded anyone else's involvement at all as Barry and his team had more than enough power to take them down what with two speedsters on the team (who can go mach 2 meaning any and all actions they could do would be far faster than any of the invading Dominators could see or even react to), and cisco who can use his powers to go wherever they need to go and see whatever they need to see.

My copy of the new Flash novel–The Haunting of Barry Allen–arrived today; I'm looking forward to reading it (and apparently it will lead into a new Arrow novel in March, so that's fun). The Arrow - Vengeance novel was great, so hopefully this one will be too.

Love those posters but seeing them again I can't help but think they're trying to photoshop Grant's face to look about 30+ years old.

Looking back in the last decade, we've definitely come a LONG way since the CW Network first attempted to bring these guys in live action format...

Can you imagine if Supergirl and the Arrowverse heroes come across the Multiverse to meet the Smallville Justice League?

They better not kill off Jay Garrick in the midseason finale.

We finally learned that Barry beat Oliver in the fight in the Arrow crossover in 2014, which wasn't shown. I am surprised they actually revealed the winner. It is kind of inconsistent with Arrow season 3, as one of the reasons Oliver was risking so much to get to Ra's in the 2nd half of season 3 was because he could not accept that anyone could beat him, yet he did not feel this way with Barry. Maybe the writers forgot about that in season 3 and just wanted to use the reveal of Barry winning for a comedic moment at the end of the episode on LOT.

hey,

I m new so i don't know if this has been asked already but there's this one thing that has been bugging be since flashpoint ended.

its about how at the end of flashpoint reverse flash bought flash back to present 2016.

the timeline in season 1 reverse flash loses his speed and gets stuck in past, where he takes over Harrison wells body.

so here's my question if after flashpoint reverse flash didn't get stuck in past,he wouldn't have taken Harrison wells body...so Harrison wells should be alive.

I think a metahuman defeating Oliver in a friendly competition is a lot different than a fellow normal human with martial arts skills beating him. I think that's what Oliver's problem was; Ra's was a normal human (albeit with long life) who just so happened to be more skilled than Oliver. And that's what made Oliver really mad. Barry beating him doesn't really count because I think Oliver sees metas in another category entirely.

I want Barry to meet his grandson Bart!!

I hear Golden-Age Flash Jay Garrick will be prominent in the second half of the third season.

I think it's reflective of how the industry approaches superheroes.

Flash: Jay Garrick & Wally Have a ‘Great Moment’ in Mid-Season Finale
6 hours agoTV NEWS
According to John Wesley Shipp, Jay Garrick and Wally West will share a moment that's 'clearly straight out of the comic book.

When Jay Garrick stopped by Earth-1 in “The Flash” Season 2 finale, he didn’t stick around very long. Though he shared a scene with most of Team Flash, he barely interacted with them and quickly took off to find his own universe. Lately, though, he’s been back to give Barry a few words of advice, and it seems as though he won’t restrict his sage of words of wisdom to Barry when he returns in “The Present,” the Season 3 mid-season finale.
Asked if Jay Garrick and Wally West would interact in the episode, John Wesley Shipp — who plays the Golden Age speedster — told CBR, “Yes! We have all these possibilities, and I’m glad I had studied Jay and Jay mentoring Wally, because there’s a little moment where — and you’ll see it when it happens — there’s a little seed of that dropped into the episode, that I hope will also grow. But there’s a great moment in STAR Labs between Jay and Wally. It’s a little moment, but it’s clearly straight out of the comic book.”

Now, Jay did meet Wally in the Season 2 finale. However, they barely shared a scene; Wally’s only exchange with Jay entailed asking which earth Jay came from, and nothing more. Since Wally has manifested super speed, it seems that Jay has a few more things to say to the fledgling speedster. In “The Present,” Barry will discover that Wally has been secretly training with HR, so whatever discussion Wally and Jay have will likely stem from this revelation.
As with Barry, Jay has become somewhat of a mentors to Wally in the comics, and he was even present when Wally decided to drop the mantle of Kid Flash and become the Flash in the wake of Barry Allen’s death. As confirmed by Shipp, the show will turn to the comics for inspiration when it comes to Wally and Jay’s relationship.

Flash: Jay Garrick Will ‘Figure in More Prominently’ in Back Half of S2
6 hours agoTV NEWS
John Wesley Shipp told CBR that Jay Garrick will become a bigger part of The Flash Season 3 as it moves into its second half.Read more

Jay Garrick may not have been around much in “The Flash” Season 3 so far, but all that’s about to change. According to John Wesley Shipp, who plays the Golden Age speedster, Jay will become a bigger part of the season as it moves into its back half.
When asked whether or not we’d see the show expand on the mistakes Jay told Barry Allen he made when he was a young speedster, Shipp told CBR, “Well, those hints keep being dropped. I mean, it’s very interesting to me, and I’m going to figure in more prominently in the second half of the season than the first. You just asked one of my questions, because nothing is wasted, I think we’ve seen in this show. So anytime something like that is dropped — and there’s more of it tomorrow night! — there are more… As I said, I’m most involved in this episode than any episode I’ve done on this show so far. So we get to see Jay dealing with this young speedster, we get to see his reaction to Savitar, and there really are some curious things that Jay says that make me, John, wonder, ‘Okay, what’s coming?'”

He also weighed in on the idea of playing a legacy character, saying, “Clearly, we’re in a legacy period. Superman is on ‘Supergirl,’ you’ve got Golden Age Flash… One thing I love about the comic universe is the legacy and the lineage and — to be part of that group as an actor who played Barry 25 years ago, and now as Golden Age Flash, and seeing it from a whole different perspective — is quite unique.”
Shipp certainly isn’t the only DCTV alum to be honored on the latest iteration of his character. Likewise, Christopher Reeve and Margot Fisher both appeared on “Smallville,” while Helen Slater and Dean Cain appear regularly on “Supergirl.” However, it seems that Shipp — who played Barry Allen in the 1990s “Flash” series — could play an even more prominent role than any of the stars listed above.

Anyone else ticked off that Savitar is just a big CG monster?

Well so far, the RF is the only evil speedster who has had the most comic accurate costume on this show.

This would be the worst thing in the history of things.

I wouldn't mind an easter egg reference, though. Say they have circumstances involving somewhat random dimension hopping occur offscreen. Somebody can mention all the crazy dimensions they don't want to revisit, and make it clear one of them is Earth-Smallville.

It doesn't really work for me, although I guess the juxtaposition of giant, clunky "armour" being used by a super-speedy speedster is meant to be interesting. I would have preferred the opposite approach - a really slim speedster in a form fitting suit to give an almost spectral / ghostly appearance. Also, seeing such a slim figure exhibit extraordinary power would have been interesting.

I just hope that we don't have another evil speedster as the villain for a LONG time after the conclusion of this season. Surely in the annals of The Flash's comic book history there are other credibly threatening villains who could serve as "big bads" (if they insist on keeping the season-long "big bad" format instead of smaller 2 to 4 episode arcs with villains) with other powers.

It's been awhile since I watched season one but was it ever explained why the Reverse Flash lost his speed?

Though I would have preferred a better suit up for Savitar, I can explain it as this guy really getting into character. He views himself as a speedgod and I think he's able to project that otherworldly appearance in order to perpetuate that belief in others. I see it as a more advanced version of the 'blur-face.'

No, still a lot of unanswered questions about Reverse Flash, we don't know how he got his speed, we don't know why he hates Barry, and we know almost nothing about who he was prior to being Reverse Flash, I don't know if they'll ever address how he lost his speed, but I imagine they're saving a lot of answers for a future season, I fully expect Thawne to be a season big bad again in a few seasons.
