West & Zampella Owed $13 Million Each Before Being Fired By Activision

The case of West & Zampella vs Activision is getting more and more heated as more of the info is being released in court.

According to the latest documents that have been released during the case, West & Zampella and 20 other infinity ward employees were owed huge bonuses. While the 20 were owed around $1.175 Million-$2.5 million each, West and Zampella were owed around $13 million each for their part in Modern Warfare 2.The two’s salary at the time was $436K, this was just before they were hastily fired by Activision mostly for their involvement in EA however other sources tell us that there was a storm brewing before that.

I was listening to the Bombcast yesterday, and they said that if this thing goes all the way bad for Activision it could cost them up to a billion dollars.

If Activision lost this case & then lost everything related to Modern Warfare. Should this not result in the firing of Bobby Kotick ? Under him Activision might lose one of their most popular IPs. That should be fire him worthy

While we're on the subject of Bobby Kotick and these lawsuits, you guys should check out this article by Patrick Klepek about "Project Icebreaker". A tale of corporate espionage and how Bobby Kotick is a real life Bond villain in the video game industry.

is there a list online yet. That shows where we can watch all of the E3 Press Conferences ?

It's a safe bet that you'll be able to watch them on most of the larger sites like GameSpot, IGN, Game Trailers, etc. You'll probably also be able to find numerous streams on YouTube, Justin, Twitch, etc.

If you want to watch on television, Microsoft's press conference will be aired Spike TV and through the Xbox Dashboard, Sony's will be on G4, and Nintendo's will be on Spike TV and MTV2.

What about EA & Ubisoft etc ?

Similar claims were made in Eurogamer's Free Radical vs. The Monsters article a few weeks back which is an equally awesome read.

Activision really just is shameless. I've made my peace with CoD and actually still enjoy the series even if it is the gaming equivalent of fast food, but it's the company's tie-ins that are really frustrating me at the moment.

James Bond, let's say. If it gave Eurocom two years instead of one to think it over and actually make a good Bond game they'd probably double the sales they make out of two ****** ones over two years.

Or Spider-man. Kotick said two years ago "Our Spidey games suck, this will change" and what? Beenox pulled it off with Shattered Dimension and so got chained to the franchise, given a year to put Edge of Time out with the knowledge that the movie tie-in was due just over half a year later. Then the movie game debuts with a battle against giant robots. Thrilling.

And Battleship and Men in Black tie-ins with literally 0% marketing? It's such an archaic way of doing things it's laughable. Even Ubisoft lends 5 or 10 minutes to its crappy movie tie-ins during an E3 conference.

The only encouraging thing I see them doing outside of the industry's biggest franchise is Prototype, a game so brain dead you can just see the suits thinking that 'blood + gore = sales'.

I just don't get this obsessive need to have the money now, now, NOW. Why not make a good product that would bring in more than just a few kids and hardcore fans?

Damn, I know a lot of ppl joke about kotick being the evil mastermind but yea, it's pretty much confirmed he's a *****er. Hope all this comes back to bite him in the ass.

If that trial was on TV. I wonder how many people would watch it ?

I'd watch it and I'm sure the gaming media would be talking about it non-stop. Probably offering up their own play by play commentaries lol.

I would try to watch at least some of it. As Patrick said in that article, this has the potential to be a "legal fireworks show".

The trial being televised by g4 would make that channel worth watching.

Animated series is SFX the anime I never saw or that horrid American cartoon with $#%^ art, wasted animation, making Ken & Ryu wimps, nearly useless, Ken is a complete idiot, these two embarrass Guile to a high level?
And somehow Ken is strong enough to beat Akuma on his own when Guile & M. Bison/Vega had no chance to win against him together, yet neither Ken nor Ryu can stand alone nor together against Bison?

EDIT: NVM, image finally loaded, I see that crap

How could you not want Street Fighter: The Movie? One of the best comedies ever. :p

I have that one, and I actually enjoyed it, sure everyone other than Bison and Chun Li is out of character, but I enjoy it, though I don't like Guile being the main hero

It's much much much more entertaining than the cartoon

Some conflict between Microsoft and Motorola I never heard before

I wonder what would happen if Obama agrees & ban the 360 in the U.S. ? I guess the 360 gamers able to vote. Would vote just to vote against him in November ? Which would end up being bad for Obama. Since the 360 is popular in the U.S.

If people are going to vote for presidency for the next 4 years over the 360, then they really shouldn't be voting

I didn't realise I'd wandered into the political forums...
