Watching that made me wish Joe would actually finish Battle Chasers.

Wow, does look great. I need to go and get the first game.

Yeah.

I want him back as permanent X-Men penciller as well. :woot:

Awesome. I'll probably hold out for a while. With Humble Bundle 4 they ended up throwing in Humble Bundle 3 and the soundtracks for all the games as a bonus.

Heh, they added 3 games to the beat the average.

Lone Survivor
Super Meat Boy
Braid

Truly, the best Humble Bundle ever.

Eh, not really. All this has going for it is Bastion. Braid was in an older bundle, Super Meat Boy in the last one, Psychonauts has been dirt cheap on Steam.

Hmm...I think I'm going to have to pass. Even with the bonuses I own more than half of those. Some of them even a couple times over.

So, I was just thinking about the future and next gen consoles. I think developers have reached a point that's going to make it difficult to go any further.

As technology gets more advanced, it also gets more expensive. And we've already seen from the PS3 launch that MOST people won't buy a console over $500.

So, now what? Do we start making monthly payments on consoles like we do cars? I'm not sure many would go for that either.

Technology gets cheaper as it gets more and more out of date though. Adding things like a blu-ray/HD drive for eg are things that are above and beyond what a next gen console necessarily requires and it's this kind of extra that has pushed up the relative price of the PS3. If you stick to the same model without adding extra features you can have an exponential increase in processing power every generation for the same price (ignoring inflation). I doubt we'll see consoles that are more expensive than PS3 in the next couple of gens.

Yeah hahah you'd be paying more anyway if you just wanted to kick up the bare minimum. I paid above the average the day it started and I checked my download page, the new games showed up.

Heh, even if you don't like the games it's great value if you're cheap. :o

I bought Super Meat Boy and Lone Survivor already but I was planning to buy everything aside from Swords and Sworcery at full price. I'm a lil bummed out I can't gift Meat Boy and Lone Survivor since they're bundled in a single steam code with Braid but ah well.

They could adopt the contract business model. But like Iceman said tech is evolving so fast the parts are becoming cheaper. I'd like to see consoles that are upgradable but I don't know how likely that is hahah.

Microsoft is already doing this with the 360. If it's successful, it's only a matter of time before we see Sony adopt that model as well. Maybe not Nintendo though. They're always very slow to react to these kinds of changes.

I want to say yes but I don't actually know for sure.

What does that mean? They have CGI cut scenes that look that good already. Now if that is what I'll be seeing when actually playing the level, then that is impressive.

Yeah just watch the bloody video and see for yourselves.

I like their choice of material to demo the demo. Make a game out of that please!

Yeah, in general I don't think it's very impressive, but the particle and lighting effects are really cool.
