I am feeling particularly epic today as I have beaten, with the aid of some good friends, the Dire Miralis several times over. Dire Miralis for the uninitiated is the final boss monster of the online quests G Rank level and newest Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
Well done! :woot:

I really want to play this one day. Sounds like a lot of fun when you take down something crazy with your buddies

hah, congrats. I mean i have NO idea what monster hunter is, but im sure thats quite an accomplishment.

If you like open ended Safari type games where you're hunting crazy giant monsters instead of Zombies or Militias I thini you'd enjoy Monster Hunter. As I have now completed all the mandatory quests I am always willing to help people rank up and make better equipment. I highly recommend you check it out maybe play a demo and see if you like it.

Feel free to look my name up if you get the Wii U version which supports online co-op. I am the helpful G Rank person. Just look for Roon and send me a message if you need help.

As for Dire Miralis as Elder Dragons go he's kind of easy compared with the likes of White Fatalis from Freedom Unite. He's big and slow but he does pack a wallop. Here's a video of Japanese gameplay of the monster:

Thanks! I don't own a wii U at the moment and am still on the fence about eventually getting one but if I do will hit you up.

Yeah, I checked out some more videos and gameplay guides since and I definitely like it.

Surprise surprise, and it's news to me

Around 06:47, the guy says Kojima replaces the voice of Big Boss, David Hayter is not the voice actor

Maybe the smart thing to do would be to wait until the price comes down a bit and then get it. I'm sure the servers will be up for a few years and I will still be playing this game. I'm pretty psyched in that I just made full Miralis gunner set and a few of his weapons so when the time comes you ever do need help grinding you hunter rank online I will be more than capable of helping you out. ^_^

My best advice if you are new to Monster Hunter is to play offline for a bit just to get a feel for the game, the controls and the monsters.

And I have been finding it quite funny but many players I have met on the servers are astounded that I'm a lady, not that female gamers are rare but to them I guess they are.

Yes that's probably more likely & thanks for the offer.

I'm sure there are a lot of female gamers who don't talk (and aren't that good :woot:) so they likely go under the radar. So it's probably even more of a novelty when we hear them and they're really good at a multiplayer game. I have a few on my friends list, 2 of who are awesome at the Gears of War games.

Do you know anything about this game:

I think it's for Japanese XBox 360 (which I also own) but just wondering if it's the same line of Monster Hunter games? Will get it for sure if so.

So i brought my SNES back from my parents house, bought a power cord and now i need some games to play. Anyone recommend some good SNES games? I cant really remember any. Any good Spider-Man or like X-Men type games?

I guess you probably have the obvious ones like Super Mario World, Mario Kart, Super Star Wars, Star Fox & Street Fighter II?

Separation Anxiety is a good 2 player Spider-Man game to spend time. Maximum Carnage is single player, harder, but more awesome.

Donkey Kong Country was also one of my favorites, back then.

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse and Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage.

Superhero games aside, anything specific you're interested in?

Hah no dude, i dont have any of my old games. I used to have the mario and DK but no idea where they are now

Yea thats what i was thinking. I went to my locale vintage game store but they didnt have any of those. I ended up snagging Power Rangers, Alien vs Predator and The Death of Superman. Will see if i can find DKC or Maximum Carnage online

With the Snes ? hmmm I'd suggest X-Men: Rise of Apocalypse if you can still find that. and Spiderman: maximum carnage, both of those are classic and for the third theres the combo spider man and the X-Men. the latter being the best of two world and always a favored pairing.

Not really, i just cant remember any good games for that system, so im kinda going in blind. Like i said, i remember Donkey Kong Country being a lot of fun. Gonna try and get that next.

What about Marvel Superheros: War of the Gems? Was that a good one?

Ah, go for DKC2 if you can.

I know you don't like Mega Man, but the X games (the first two specifically) are really, really good and if you can find them for a decent price they're well worth playing even today.

I would also recommend Chrono Trigger. It's a JRPG, which people don't seem to have much of a stomach for these days, but it's very different than a lot of others. It was and still is in certain respects ahead of it's time which makes it still totally enjoyable today as well.

Also, A Link to the Past, duh. Surprised no one has mentioned that yet.

Ah sweet, so is DKC2 the better one?

I think i saw some Mega Man at this store i go to, but think they were fairly pricey.
