The Gaming Lounge: Beyond

I played like 3 or 4 hours worth of game. I like it so far. I would say Hollow Knight to this point was better. But this is still a ton of fun. I got stuck on a few bosses for several tries, but so far none like the Watcher Knight fight in HK where I legit was stuck on that 1 fight for 3 hours

I want to get Silksong but feel like I need to finish Hollow Knight first. Got near the end and stopped a few years back. Was having trouble with the second DLC boss.

You mean Nightmare King Grimm? Or is there an earlier one I cannot remember lol. It took me hours to beat Nightmare King Grimm. Probably between 2 days of just that fight like 6 hours.

I am like 36 hours into Silksong and still have a million things to do lol

Yep. So hard.

How are you enjoying Silksong so far?

Nightmare King Grimm was probably the hardest boss in a game I ever beat. I had to toy so heavily with charm layouts and such. That fight is all about identifying what attack he is about to do very quickly. He only has 5 attacks. I only attacked him when he did the one where he sits in mid air and the fires come up from the bottom of the screen one at a time. Way I would set it up is start like half screen away from him. When you get to him, jump and hit. Then hit him again with an upward strike while moving under him to the other side. Then jump and avoid the last fire but that comes up that should appear next to.him and between him and you, and time a double jump so as the fire fades, you safely are next to him and can get a 3rd strike in before he disappears. Any other attack, learn the appropriate dodge. That's what worked for me, but it too hours to even do lol

I like Silksong, but this game is very difficult. Not necessarily for bosses, though there is one boss encounter and entire region I nearly rage quit in and I just hated. But other than that, it's mostly fun they went too hard on double damage enemies though, and some bench scarcity in boss run backs suck. But there is a lot to do. The map on this game is so big lol. There are several things I already know I need to find to progress or open a door here and there and such, and I just keep finding new areas all the time and being like "another one!" So it can be intimidating. But as with Hollow Knight, when you unlock that key to progress and make meaningful progress, it's fun

It's weird. Aspects of the game I definitely find harder than the first game but other aspects I find a lot easier.

Bosses are mostly easier. It's the environments and basic enemy layout and lack of benches. Makes it much harder overall to me
