The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

Hoult comes across too British for me, even when he's playing Americans.

Would be down for those other choices, though.

Nicholas Hoult is still the best pick for Clark Kent:

- 33. Can play a younger / Year 2 Superman
- 6’3”
- Dramatic actor with comedic chops
- Experience on major tentpole film sets

Given how close he came to Matt Reeves Batman, I believe he will be in the mix.

I'm not really digging Hoult as Clark/superman.
But never say never....

Time to cape for Fabien Frankel for pick #2 if not Corenswet...

Im gonna take your Odinkerk for Perry. Anna T. J Is getting a bit too much screen time for me, kinda becoming the female Chris Pratt in terms of being in everything and feeling samey in most roles.

Open question to all.

when you cast for Supes, is there a particular comic that you look at and think that's how he should look? He has clearly been drawn many different ways, from squinting eyes, to a boof head, Reeve inspired, the early Jim Lee style and many more.

I didn’t realize Corenswet was in the new HBOMax series We Own the City. Nice to see him working in some non-Ryan Murphy roles. I wouldn’t be upset it he was our Superman.

Still can’t get on the Elordi train though…

Corenswet got the look and voice for Superman too. Seems pretty chill from interviews too, it's always nice to not have a tool in the role :o

This is how I think he should look.

Kind of a weird thing to say but I want Superman to be built more like a strongman. Just an ox of a man.

But I can't think of anybody that really fits that bill.

I would once again like to push the idea of John Hawkes as Jonathan Kent

I'm partial to how Jorge Jiminez and Patrick Gleason drew him in the Rebirth era:

I'm also loving how Dan Mora's been drawing him in World's Finest:

I prefer a leaner build - never like it when he's too bulky.

This might go over like a lead balloon...

Clark Kent / Superman ... Paul Mescal
