I mean, his Euphoria character getting beaten to a bloody pulp was a “stand up and cheer” moment for the audience.

Which isn’t to say he couldn’t ever play a lovable character, but… I don’t see it yet.

Nicholas Hoult is still the best pick for Clark Kent:

- 33. Can play a younger / Year 2 Superman
- 6’3”
- Dramatic actor with comedic chops
- Experience on major tentpole film sets

Considering Mount looks like he could have played Superman himself in his younger days, I think Jor-El would probably make more sense for him. Not sure I’d cast Olyphant as either character, tbh. That seems like it would be a waste of his particular charms to me.

I think a lot of these choices would be good for a previous version, but we need to aim way younger for the reboot.

Goodman would be a great Perry or Pa for an established Superman, but not so much a Year One Superman.

I think 60s/70s is a good age range for the Kent's, myself. This isn't going to be the Smallville TV show. Clark is still going to be Superman and a grown adult in this movie.
