The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

You know, I could see that. I like that he’s a little older and less trim than the likes of Kevin Costner and John Schneider. A little more of a classic Jonathan Kent.

If this is really rebooted in the same model as The Batman, I could see Gunn and co. skipping over the Els and Krypton in the same way as Reeves limited the Waynes’ presence and skipped the murder entirely.
I really REALLY hope so. I'm sick of Krypton and seeing it destroyed yet again.
As for as who plays Supes, I really don't have a preference.
It's probably gonna be a young unknown actor anyway.

They've got to give Jacob Elordi a serious look, right?

- Star of a hit HBO series (Euphoria)

Still stanning for my man Matt Smith as Brainiac.

They'd be crazy not to. Not convinced he has the acting chops at present, but he definitely shows potential.

He is too much of a jock, I can't imagine him doing Clark Kent, which I think is something people really overlook when casting Superman (this includes Cavill).

I’d need to see him in something other than Euphoria, because right now all I could imagine is Nate in a supersuit.

An actor I would love to see as Perry White in a younger version is... Michael Shannon.

I am not opposed to Elordi, I just don't think he would do it, especially if it means signing on for 4, 5, 7 movies. Also I am not sure he would be comfortable getting to a size for Superman, and people commenting on it.

A shame because I’d argue it’s easily THE most important part of the character to get right.

The actor who plays Superman needs to be FUNNY! Clark Kent is a funny character! Anyone can be a handsome hero, not many can be a handsome hero and a funny dork!

Elordi got my vote, he's in the next Emerald Fennel film with Keoghan too so he'd building up an impressive resume.

I think right now he'd be my choice as well.

elordi - superman
lucy boynton - lois lane
bob odenkirk - perry white
jeremy strong - lex luthor

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get on the Elordi train. I’ve seen Euphoria and there’s just no Clark Kent in there from what I’ve seen.

Anson mount.
Jor-el or Jonathan?

Timothy Olyphant. Same. Either or.

He’s a legit sociopath on there, so someone’s gonna have to suggest one hell of a 180-degree-turn role for me to picture him as Superman.

Considering Mount looks like he could have played Superman himself in his younger days, I think Jor-El would probably make more sense for him. Not sure I’d cast Olyphant as either character, tbh. That seems like it would be a waste of his particular charms to me.
