While I agree the Oliver Jackson-Cohen would make for a good Lex (or Batman), I don't want to pigeon hole him into only playing dark characters. I could see him do either role.

Anyway, another actor I find potential in for Superman is Steven Strait. He's pretty good in the Expanse on Amazon Prime.

I could even see OJC as Superman... maybe. He kinda has the right look. He'd also be perfect for Lex, and I like the Constantine suggestion. WB should definitely snatch him up for something though. I remember his name being tossed around for Batman after the first Haunting series and I had trouble seeing it then, but after Bly Manor, I could definitely see it. Too late for that now, but he could rock it as a darker superhero. If Marvel decides to give Daredevil another go (and Charlie Cox doesn't get an offer to come back) I could see OJC in that role too.

Cruise would be unbelievable as Luther. The exact type of guy I want.

Eh, I don't think Marvel has really snatched up anyone I would want in a Superman movie. Tessa Thompson as Lois maybe, but there are other equally good or better choices for the role.

There was an older thread focused on MCU actors recast as the DC Universe that I had fun with, adding and editing a massive list over a few days.

I had some fun with some of the casting choices, but also was mindful of existing on-screen chemistry between actors and tried to honor that by casting characters that exist within the same corners of the DCEU (i.e. keeping Evans & Atwell together, or Tim Roth as another military figure w/ a monstrous turn). But there's also some off-the-wall choices in there too like Taika Waititi as The Wizard, or Ruffalo as The Question. Hope some find it an interesting scroll-through.

New interview with Brandon Routh. Drops hints he could pop up in Flashpoint. Ryan Unicomb is still sticking with his story that WB and Routh have been in negotiations to return in a Superman role.

Routh had always been quick to dismiss Superman news or a potential return. This is the first time he's talked in years of ever returning.

While I don't see him starring in a new movie again, would be interesting if he shows up on the big screen again. If he does I'd imagine it would spin off into an HBO show.

I am open to Routth as Superman again. It's not the 2000s anymore and the multiverse will be a thing on film.

There is no can't anymore. The MCU and the Snyder Cut have obliterated that word I think. Only possibility remains in the genre.
