Can't believe this was Darkseid debut, DC is truly a tragedy, the cinematic event that never was.
I'd like to have a word with Jason Kilar about approving this.

I hated that Desaad was CG. You gotta get someone in the model of Brad Dourif in that role.

Even Granny Goodness was CGI!

Darkseid should be CGI (the only actor who could have played him in live action with makeup and prosthetics is Michael Clarke Duncan and he's dead).

I disagree. I think it would require certain effects to enhance things like size and so forth, but I’d love to see Darkseid done (at least partially) practically.

I just see Darkseid in the same vain as Thanos, Hulk, Groot, etc... it just doesn't make sense in this day and age to try and do that character "practically". 20 years ago, yes (and MCD was still alive then so he could have done it), but that time has passed.

100% this. I'm all for them getting a really good dramatic actor to play him, but in the end, Darkseid (aesthetically) should be a Mocap & CGi setup just like they did with Thanos. He's always been huge and very different proportionally to a human build, even a comparatively tall and well built humanoid like Superman. The digital work on Thanos was absolutely superb and there's no reason a similar approach couldn't work for Darkseid - if they want to do him justice.

Yeeeh... It was the day I found out (many moons ago) that I thought wtf.. how can it be just so obviously simple. Sees even still is on the nose but a little more less obvious than just BIG BAD GUY. obviously I can't change it but yeah is what it is.

Why would I ever see it as that? Comics are weird and have made up names of all kinds. Is seid a word? I ask before looking it up so I am probably wrong.

Basically I'm just saying as a kid reading comics I read it pronounced Dark Seed. I grew up in a small country town pre internet. There was nothing to tell me otherwise.

I have no beef with that guy, but it will never stop being funny to me that that fanbase was absolutely furious about the possibility/likelihood of Ava Duvernay’s New Gods movie going with a different actor for Darkseid.

An actor that far from being A-list as the ultimate baddie in the DCU? If it was any other director, those nerds would absolutely not have it. But since it was that director, there’s no other choice for the role.

My favourite was a Snydercultist going on a rant on Twitter about how no GL they get could ever be better than Wayne T Carr.

Dark Side sounds cooler and conveys what the character is in a nutshell.

Dark Seed doesn't sound very cool and.... what the hell is a Dark Seed? That name doesn't convey anything.

People keep fan casting Corenswet and he would be amazing but there’s a part of me that would love to see someone with a different body type. Like, burly, kind of working class not gq model.

but I suppose Pattinson made a point of not bulking up for Batman so maybe worrying about physique is just not the most important thing at the moment

like, if you look at the superman all stars art from frank quitely you can see how Clark is able to hide in plain sight by slouching and wearing braces to give the appearance that he’s just an office worker with a weight problem

I personally wouldn't want a Clark that big and also I think it's easier to show how he can hide under that physique in an illustration rather than real life.
