The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

If there have been THREE Keep Christ In Christmas movies, that means its hard to keep the dude in Christmas. Maybe he just doesn't want to be a part of it anymore.
He wasn't even born in Dec anyway. It was late sept or Oct.

how about Anthony Michael Hall And Molly Ringwald for Ma & Pa Kent?1704833290224.png

nothing to do with Superman, but, a fun 80's reference

I think Molly is too “glamorous” for Martha, but I like AMH as Jonathan!

Is Joel Gretsch still working? He would make a decent Pa Kent.

58-years-old is basically my ideal age for Jonathan Kent tbh.

Yeah, on paper it doesn’t seem particularly young, but I do want Kents that are a little bit more… weathered. Chandler just seems so youthful.

Yeah, like, give me an ‘80s/‘90s 58-year-old.

The 2020s 58-year-olds are a bit fresh-faced for my liking.

I wonder if Rainn Wilson would make a good Pa Kent. He's a solid actor once you get past only being able to see him as Dwight. About right age for the part, IMO. Recognizable name but not a huge star. And I think he could give the role a down-to-earth everyman quality suitable for a humble small town farmer.

Yeah, I did consider Offerman as well. But I figured he must have been suggested before and wanted pick someone new who you wouldn't normally associate with this type of role.

Anson mount for jor-el?
Or Jim Caviezel?

Tom Davis (Wonka/Paddington 2/Murder In Successville) as Otis.

Don Johnson as Pa Kent

That’s not bad, but Malcolm McDowell on STAS really imprinted the idea that Metallo should be European on me.

I feel like the odds of him getting a solo project (or at least a solo film) in the near future after this past year are slim, but Richson honestly seems like a perfect choice for Shazam.

Corben more often than not is either an American soldier or small-time crook/thug before becoming Metallo, so Ritchson would feel more comic-accurate to me. I also have less than zero desire to see Shazam again any time soon lol.

That said, I don't really wanna see Metallo either. Wildly overrated Supes rogue, imo. Could see him as a basic baddie he's fighting when the movie opens or something, but he'd be a terrible Big Bad. There's a reason he's thrived on TV - episodic villain or lower-level henchman at best.

Well, yeah, I don’t think that would be the best role for Metallo either. He’s an act one threat leading to something bigger.
