Justice League The Hal Jordan/Green Lantern Thread - Part 1

That image stills warms my heart whether Hal is in the movie or not. It's nice to see WB recognizes him as one of the big boys.

That Lantern line has both excited me and made me even more impatient/frustrated.

Pretty sure it's Armie Hammer. He's just having so much fun with this at the moment.

Also, strange how they went from "unite the seven" to casually walking away from that marketing.

Well, firstly, that was for the Aquaman poster that came out before BvS. So it was marketing for that movie, not Justice League.

Secondly, while people are connecting it to the 7 (typical) Justice League heroes, putting it on an Aquaman image is clearly a reference to the 'Seven Seas'.

I wish they would cast the Lantern and announce it already so that everyone can shut the **** up about it...

i think he is in the JL movie. just wondering how they manage to properly introduce so many new characters in it. or he will at least get a tease.

Cameo or just other characters speaking in way that audience knows GL exists. I've got to think in a JL2 we get both GL and Martian Manhunter!

Shouldnt Lanterns supposed to protect entire sector? Including World itself?
So now according to Steppenwolf they are either extinct or oblivious to invasion. Could it be that they are taking the fight to Darkseid already?
Or dealing with something catastrophic enough to sacrifice a planet, like Nekron or Parallax? Especially Parallax makes some real sense to me, since they took so much time to reveal Hal Jordan in JLA-verse. Next time we see Hal Jordan, he may be already possessed by Parallax entity and can be even used as a plot device against Darkseid. Dont think Parallax is on par with Anti-Life-Equation when it comes to mind control yet still...

Yeah me too. Even with Aquaman's change from his comics look, he just looks right with everyone

Eh, it could simply be that the Lantern assigned to this sector is currently dead or missing, and they haven't replaced him/her/it yet. If space is big and Lanterns are few, the idea could plausibly be "By the time the GLC notice that we are conquering a whole planet, it'll be too late to do anything about it". Especially if the plan is less "conquer and hold" and more "take the loot and leave a token conquest force for symbolism". Unless the Corps can actually take the fight to Apokalips itself, there's not much they can do at that point.

I'm still hoping the third act brings the League to Apokalips through a boom tube (or at least just Batman, like in the JL Origin comic) to save Superman or the other humans who have been taken, and there we come across the GL of 2814 (either Hal, played by Armie Hammer or Abin Sur), held captive for years and separated from his ring.

The line itself, despite it's content draws attention. Why mention the Lanterns at all? Why give over a line in the trailer to them at all?

You know how bad it is when the movie itself is trolling fans. Mentioning the Lanterns while not having them there is worse than any amount of trolling Henry or Armie can try. lol

Steppenwolf didnt say "No lantern"he said "No lanterns".Plural.hinting that something has happened to the corps. My guess is that the Green lantern movie will focus on rebuilding the corps

That along with having Superman from the beginning would really make the JL feel complete.

Or it could just mean the organization tends to operate in groups, and that there are no Lanterns in the vicinity to interfere, for whatever reason. Doesn't mean there are none in the whole universe.

Would be pretty killer if that whole war segment involved Lanterns, which could be what Steppenwolf is referencing as that side was thinned out.

He said: No protectors here. No Lanterns. No Kryptonian....

This statement implies to me that there -is no- Lantern and -is no- Superman protecting Earth at this time.

Who ever is speaking - Steppenwolf or Darkseid, they have been watching and now know that the Earth is vulnerable to attack now. Maybe Lex's communion with Steppenwolf let them know that Superman was gone and the time is ripe for invasion.

Steppenwolf could be telling Darkseid that the time is right and that he should let him go to Earth OR Darkseid is informing his uncle to prepare the attack. Either way works.

The voice is great but did not sound a lot like Hinds to me. I am sure it is modified a great deal but if it is... who will they get with a deeper voice...that we can understand !:cwink:

The DCEU is an established universe. They're skipping origin stories because, well, Marvel already went that route. DC can just skip all that assuming most people already know JL origins. What with MoS and WW, The CW Flash, now they can just go right to the good stuff :woot:

Only ones I expect to have some kind of origin tale would be Aquaman and Shazam!
