The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) - Part 1

Some of you need to work out the difference between British girls and Australian.

Thor 2..felt standard. Like a filler episode of a show.

I'm just upset how it treated the Warriors 3 and the Asian Dude. Hell, they had no idea what to do with the Asian Guy that he just pretty much abandon him 'with his people'.

Haha yeah. I totally forgot he was in the movie.

Funny Malone says she wants to continue to play Johanna forever because I always thought it would be interesting to see a Hunger Games TV series that focused on one of the previous contestants each season. I would love to see a season with Johanna being the lead and following her from the time she's chosen up until the time she wins then the next season following a different contestant.

Are the last 2 instalments of Hunger Games this kind of time in 2014 & 2015?

Yes.

Part 1 comes out Nov. 21, 2014 and Part 2 comes out Nov. 20, 2015.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing how it ends. Can't really picture what I imagine the revolution phase to be like (haven't read the books).

i still love the whole art campaign with this film and how subtle everything was, like these:

A couple little points:

1) I really like the Caeser Flickerman's game show. It's so well-done. Even the music is fun. It really feels like this is the kind of game show they would have.

2) In the second movie, Peeta tells Katniss his favourite colour, and he says orange as in the colour of sunset, not the colour of Effie's hair. Later on, when that girl that sacrificed herself for Peeta dies, Peeta holds her as she is dying in her arms and tells her to look at the beautiful colours of the sunset. Nice little layer.

I caught this on 2nd viewing and thought it was very nice little touch.

i would love a mini series or shorts of Ceasar Flickerman and his interviews of tributes, be it the ones in these movies, or ones we've not seen in past games

also, not really that important, but i would've liked to have seen what ratings all the victors got (on the 1-12 scale) after their individual assessments. i can't remember if they were in the CF book or not

Both Katniss and Peeta got 12 points, the sole reason being so that the other tributes go after them in the arena.

As someone who has not read the books,

I loved Jena Malone as Johanna Mason, and they really built up her character as a super-confident badass. I think the most predictable thing for her character, now that she has been built up, is that she will be tortured and humiliated and destroyed and we're going to see her with her limbs torn off, I don't want to see that. I hope they do something better.

i can assure you her limbs will stay in tact, but as for the other stuff, you might be pleasantly surprised. johanna is gonna spend some "special" time in the Capitol

It's so funny how on the official Facebook page, there was a quote from a critic stating that this is one of the best sci-fi movies in recent memory. And all these kids are like 'Hunger Games ain't sci fi!'

Hunger Games is the very DEFINTION of traditional sci-fi. In fact, it's more hard sci-fi than let's say Oblivion.

It's sci fi but in a more subtle way. There isn't in-your-face technology like we're used to so it is easy to forget that.

I hear that Robert Knepper is going to be in the next movie.

I hope he plays a creepy bastard who's also an evil, evil man. He's awesome at those roles. In fact, he should never play a good guy ever.

I think so. I'm with you on that. But yeah it's pretty sci-fi. I think the preconceived idea of sci-fi is Star Wars or Star Trek and that's it. I mean, Jurassic Park is pure sci-fi especially in its message. Well in the first movie/book that is.

its scifi . just because we get comicbook movies and dark ''realistic'' movies dosnt mean that scifi changed. it is what it is.

maybe some dont understand what scifi is because they are to stupid to know that what they see in movies will not be possible in 20-50 -100 years.

To most people sci-fi is the Jetsons.

I once read a long diatribe by a "purist" of science-fiction who decried things like Star Wars, Star Trek and the like as science-fantasy which in many respects is right.

The problem is of course that when you use the word fantasy in something people think of LOTR and Conan instead.

Sci-Fi isn't one thing. While more fantastical Star Wars, Flash Jordan and Doctor Who have evey right to be considers sci-fi.

I do think sci-fi fans can get territorial. Well that's all geeks but you get what I mean.

Is there a deeper meaning to the sugar cube that Finnick offers Katniss in front of the horses before the opening ceremony?
