I know, and while I can understand that story point, it was unnecessary, IMO...especially when this guy lives in the same world as Black Widow, a woman who takes on trained killers and aliens in a body suit that looks less protective than the DD one.
The problem is Daredevil presents a world where Matt get's sliced open and you can kill a man with a blow from a hammer. He is not operating on the "I can get slapped by the Hulk and get up".
I immediately felt like the two belt buckles were intentionally made to imply "DD" in the way that Bale's Batman utility belt buckle echoed an an intentionally unintentional looking Bat Symbol. That's what I want.
That world is still within the wider world of the MCU....where again, a woman with no super powers, in an outfit with less armor than Matt's, is still skilled enough to fight off laser wielding aliens. Again, I get what they were trying to do, but it was unnecessary, IMO, given what we see normal heroes do in the MCU. I think you can have a dark, gritty show without completely militarizing outfits. But it is what it is.
The suit really needs to evolve and be streamlined in the future. Especially with heroes like Black Panther and Spider-Man eventually running around in the MCU.
Early concept art usually isn't the same as the final costume. None of the Marvel costumes are as form fitting and "perfect" as the artwork of them.
Off topic: I hope they do stick with that mask for BP.
On topic: Agreed, nothing ever looks as good as the concept.
I'm not crazy about the mask, it looks like Batman's hard plastic mask.
...and that's the only thing that reminded you of Batman from the whole series?
