It made 130 million dollars more than THOR, that's not THAT much more. Iron Man was also marketed alot better than most other Marvel Studios films, no one ever mentions that.

It was also the first. It was very risky and still won the day.

And not sure what you mean about only 130 mil more. It sold a lot more tickets. Inflation and 3D were not on its side. Thor also came out on the good side of the international market explosion.

Now if you ask me which movie I like more, it is Thor and I think Thor 2 will get a big boost from the Avengers and Hiddleston love.

I'll be lying if I said MOS' trailer doesn't look good, but I do sense a heavy influence from Nolan and it seems to me that it is trying hard to copy the look and feel of the Dark Knight trilogy. And I still believe that IM3 will be the CBM of the year, judging from what I've seen.

Can't judge quality till we see them. Heck, The Wolverine might still end up being the best.

But we all have our bias and well we all carry our own baggage into these films. Characters we just enjoy more.

Don't think the trailers make it look like TDK. I get a mature vibe like Nolan's Batman, but the tone and style looks different. Close, but different. It really looks like something else.

All I know right now is that I have a great list of summer films to watch and it starts with IM3.

It looks absolutely nothing like his Batman movies. Especially after this trailer.

I despise the character of superman....but that trailer has me interested definitely a take on the character that I can get behind, and I'll be there opening night. It sickens me DC/WB dropped the ball on Green Lantern the way they did though....I'll never forgive them for that, that's my personal fav DC character.

anywho IM3 is going to be awesome! hope this AMC issue gets resolved, I didn't call them, but my tickets are for an AMC, so I hope this does not affect me in any way.

If so, have you heard anything about when they may settle their dispute and tickets may become available?

But it's so damn annoying and smacks of a certain insecurity. Or is that immaturity? Whatever. There just isn't any reason for people to go running off into unrelated forums to mention other films. That's stirring **** for the hell of it and it's totally unnecessary.

Agreed, this is stupid. I liked the new MoS trailer, and quite frankly it's the only trailer for it, I've liked, and I mentioned it on the MoS threads, but people are just trying to start a flame war here.

Honestly i haven't heard anything, we still have tickets for oblivion and iron man for pre sale last I checked. Our company is showcase, though, not AMC or UA. Either way I'm probably just going to go to the employee screening instead of the midnight lol. Man of steel I might do the midnight though, because I feel that's more of an event, being that its the first super man movie in like seven years.

too bad. this mixed quality in the promotional material is something I hope MS gets under control for TDW. posters like the falling IM teaser looked incredibly well, but this one is just one ugly photoshopped wreckage. I noticed this with TA too, the last poster was a massive letdown. Funny enough the other MS movies had this problem to a much lesser degree, it might have something to do with Paramount no longer being in charge with the marketing...
