I might be the only one, but I think that is horribly stupid. In trilogies, the third movie should up the ante on an emotional and personal level, not just effect wise.

One of the main points about the MCU films is to spit in the face of the trilogy paradigm that has hampered films for so long. I don't think they're trying for an Iron Man trilogy.

Point taken. The entire thing is basically being viewed as live action versions of the Marvel Comics Universe. It can be rebooted, spun off, crossed over umpteen times if Disney wants to.

Yep, that's one of the things I like about this whole MCU they're building. The template of 'trilogies' doesn't really apply here.
In fact, it gets closer to comic books, in many ways.

When the actors "pass their sell by date", I don't want a reboot. I'd rather just a new rooster. God knows there's hundreds of characters they can use.

about the trilogy thing, this may be the last IM movie RDJ does apart of Avengers 2 or cameos...so considering that and the fact that the plot of Stark being put into the same situation as the first IM and bringing things full circle, i feel each character arcs need to fit into trilogy like packages...

Badass! I hollered in excitement when I read that. I was already excited for IM3, but now I'm way more excited.

What makes you think that just because they're upping the ante effect-wise, they won't also do so emotionally? It's possible for movies to do both.

I just remembered when RIM quoted Feige saying there'd be more suits in IM3 than all three movies (IM, IM2, Avengers) combined. I guess we now know how.

I hope not. That sounds incredibly lame. 40 Iron Man suits? There will be no distinction between any of them they'll just be cannon fodder. It will be like the drone fight in Iron Man 2 which is redundant.

This sounds like Armor Wars to me.

Personally, I would looove to see the Hulkbuster armor (dude, what if Banner was working on it?) and the stealth armor among those 40 if it's true.

Also, has anyone connected the 47 with the Item 47 Marvel One-Shot yet?

Instead of 40 suits, they should've just had the Iron Legion from Iron Man 300. There were only about 7 Iron Men (Tony, Rhodey, Bethany Cabe, Happy Hogan, Clay Wilson (Force), the original Guardsman (O'Brien or whatever his name is) and someone else I forget).

That way none of them were just cannon fodder and faceless drones.

Iron Man's new armor sounds super badass, the first two IM films were mediocre in terms of action so I'm glad to hear this.

Yeah, it would be great to see a number of Easter Eggs. I'd particularly like to see the classic red and gold on film as well as the horned faceplate. Hopefully there won't be the one with the nose.

I would LOVE to see some modernized classic suits hidden somewhere in the army of suits.
