The Jean Grey/Phoenix Thread

I hope the writers remember Jean is a MD with a minor in psychology!

We are getting the Galactus storyline again for the Fantastic Four movie (even though the Rise Of The Silver Surfer did that already), so I don't think we can rule out Marvel wanting to try to nail the Dark Phenoix storyline after two eras of the Fox X-Men movies botched it. I think we will see it in the MCU.

I mean, to do it properly, you need to build it long term anyway. So that tracks.
Marvel Studios' The X-Men: First Steps, would be out by 2028 the earliest, I think. If they plan to do their version of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, it might take several X-Men films first before they get to that storyline.

Does that exist in nature though? Like, I loved Famke as Jean, but I never bought her as a genuine redhead, because her hair didn't look real. They put hair dye on a brunette and it showed. I'd be fine with a more natural look this time.

There's people like Karen Gillan or Bryce Dallas Howard. They're both natural redheads.

I dont think she is Jean Grey or Mary Jane Watson. Jean would be fairly random to introduce in a Spider-Man movie. So my bet is on a more classic Spider-Man related character or outside shot maybe like Firestar. I don't see Jean being here

Sadie Sink is too young for Jean Grey in my opinion. As Mary Jane Watson, she could work. It always seemed a bit odd that they would have Zendaya's character called MJ (Spider-Man's nickname for Mary Jane) instead of just having Mary Jane. However having Mary Jane would remind Peter of MJ folling the events of No Way Home because of the same initials. It also sets up the classic trope of Peter moves on with his life and is in a relationship with a new woman when his lost love appears back in his life.

It would also seem odd to have a red haired character in a Spider Man movie and not have her be the iconic Mary Jane. That's like putting a black female character with white hair in an X-Men movie and not having her be Storm.

Firestar is my bet too, so they might need an Iceman to go with her. Fingers crossed.

What other redheads are there in Spider-Man's orbit? Alana Jobson? That would be random. Nah, Firestar's a lot more likely.

Firestar would be firey. She's a X-Woman and a mutant and at the same time, definitely won't come across as random in a Spider-Man movie, unlike Jean.
