The Joker Thread - Part 1

Rami's performance in the entirety of Mr. Robot (particularly the final season tho for certain moments and episodes. If you know, you know) is ****ing incredible and idk how anyone can doubt that

Speaking of Mr. Robot actors tho, I wouldn't think Martin Wallström would be too bad of a fit either. He makes me think of what happens when you fuse Jared Leto and Mads Mikkelsen and yet the experiment actually turned out alright lol

Right?

Instead of getting the guy that played Pennywise, why not grab the guy that almost did?
Lol. I like Poulter’s body of work more. And why would Skarsgard want to be type cast as an evil clown anyway?

I have a very strong love/hate relationship with Gotham lol.

Monaghan started off... Okay I suppose, but his performance basically evolved into a hammy/over-the-top Ledger Joker impression and then a hammy/over-the-top Hopkins impression. Some good moments here and there I suppose, and good enough for that show if you wanna go there, but... Kinda cringe lol. He's not too bad in Shameless tho, but I've kinda fallen off that show .

THIS.

Lakeith Stanfield would be a friggin cool left field choice.

Adam Driver sure looks the part facially, but presence-wise I dunno

Doubt it’s a popular choice here but I’d love to see what Ryan Gosling could do with the role

Gosling vs Pattinson wow

I’m in

How would people feel about Willem Dafoe? Like, I know he's fairly old, and is maybe too obvious a choice, but if they went ahead and cast him, would anyone not think he'd knock it out of the park? I feel like with Dafoe, you could just plug him in and you'd be guaranteed a great (albeit fairly old) Joker.

Willem should be saved for a Batman Beyond. But he always seemed perfect for Mr J, not Green Goblin. It’s a crime really that it’s gone this far.

Plus, if there was an worry of a new Joker not living up to Phoenix, having Dafoe would relieve some of the pressure, as I'm sure most people would readily accept him in the role.

I love Dafoe but he is waaay too old for the role of The Joker. They should go for someone in their early to mid 30s or late 20s. Most likely they will cast someone, everybody will hate until they see him in action and then love him lol

I think Dafoe and Dourif would have made great Jokers back in the 90's/early 2000's, but both are a little too old for the role now unless they do a Batman Beyond type film down the line.

I like how he’s given us two different looks already lol. I’m interested Lakeith!

I'd like to see a physically imposing Joker for the next one, someone like the guy who played the tooth fairy in the Hannibal show.
