The Joker Thread - Part 1

I wonder how they're going to maintain continuity with this radical of a makeup job assuming they don't revisit the character for a couple of years. I assume they keep prosthetic molds and wigs on file?

Can we assume this scene is not canon? Because they could always decide to go with a slightly different look when he shows up again.

Hell, old films used Polaroids for keeping continuity with anything, especially makeup. Penguin looked the same for every scene… back in 1990-1991.

Lol can we just keep getting 5 minute vignettes with Batman facing off against his rogues gallery?

I liked this. The scarring is jarring (lol) but I got Joker. So kudos to Keoghan and Reeves—and Pattinson for another stellar scene as Batman.

Outside of Arkham, slap some white paint and lipstick over the scars and disfigured lips. And give him some colorful clothes. Even better

Are deleted scenes typically considered canon? I mean what if this scene is never referenced on film again?
They don't normally make a huge deal about releasing them. This is clearly meant to showcase their version of the character and hype him up for future appearances.

Still hoping that @Kane52630 delivers the usual goods.

But that's no fun. :csad:

I'll tell you what though. I have no idea how this Joker would dress. Definitely not a clean purple suit. Seriously blanking here.
You sure about that? We don't know how much of this look is permanent. A lot of the injuries could be post-acid bath. (I know Reeves has said the grin is congenital, but some of the disfigurement looks like acid related injuries.) I'm pretty sure I saw fresh blisters and even some stitches. He could clean up quite a bit in a subsequent appearance. A grungy, punky sort of costume might be too reminiscent of Ledger (especially version 1 from the bank heist).

I don’t think we need to worry about this Joker not having a clown theme. Reeves has made it clear he isn’t Joker yet.

I hope we get some sort of purple slacks at least or something, but The Dark Knight Returns. one of the most iconic Batman stories ever, has Joker in a white suit, so it really doesn’t matter in the end, I suppose.

One thing that would be cool is a consistent purple/pink color scheme throughout his outfits if they give him multiple outfits.

Like no matter what he's wearing there's always SOMETHING colored purple or pinkish.

If the Joker does wear a suit, then I think Johnny Rotten/ Sex Pistols is the way they'll go.

Or, maybe Ian Dury?

Or go the opposite direction, and more glam

…at first I thought his hands looked like that from getting caught, but being 10ish months later that doesn’t make sense.

Its Reeves way of showing this Joker constantly is deteriorating his fingerprints, so he’ll never officially be ID’d.

Tbh that would add an interestingly off-putting sort of contrast

Johnnie Rotten was a huge influence on their designs for Ledger's Joker. It would be too repetitive to go there again.

It reminded me of his razor-fingers bit from Azzarello/Bermejo’s Joker. But yeah, after that long in Arkham, your theory makes more sense.
