Not if you're Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian!

And on a completely different topic, this vlogger has it all right. Fox delayed to production to have extra time to get it right and then Trank ruined everything.

I used to have high hopes for this film. I wanted it to succeed. I wanted to believe that Trank could turn out a decent film. Now I have absolutely no sympathy for him based on what I've learned and Disney would be smart to kick him off Star Wars unless he becomes the next Michael Bay when it comes to destroying mega-franchises.

Your video wasn't showing. Now it is.

I just really wanna know what happened to Trank.

ANd I this point, I'd be surprised if any of these rumors arent true. Most of the time in movies or whatever, if youre getting rumors this bad that you jump in and debunk them.
Nobody has said anything about them has they?

LOL at the youtube comment section....

This movie wouldn't be Fantastic even Fox thinks it's Invisible this Thing that is being called a "movie" is going to be Torched when people see and everyone's career is Doomed

If people stretch these puns any further, I think I'm gonna go up in flames!

After the Lions choked once again and let them Cowgirls steal one, I needed a pick me up. Still not ready to parade in the streets yet though.

Not until Feige gives the official word can I rejoice.

Exactly. There are some very bad rumors out there, and nobody is coming out to say they aren't true. Not Trank, not the actors, not the crew, not the producers, not Fox, nobody...

That implies they are true.

What other jobs can Trank do if his career as a film director is over?

What a wild ride.

So many were hoping Fox wouldn't move ahead with this film back when they announced a release date. Then, production ramps up and we start losing hope. Suddenly, we hear rumor after rumor about production issues. And now, the director allegedly showed up on set inebriated and has potentially ruined the film himself?

I think I can speak for almost everyone when I say that I NEVER expected this.

But then again...whatever road leads to Marvel is fine with me. :)

He'd probably be pretty ******* awesome at demolition. Those home renovation shows are all the rage these days. He doesn't need to be behind the camera. Get him in front of the camera tearing the **** out of peoples homes so Vanilla Ice and a crew of Amish people can renovate.

I also wanna know if Trank was blazed or coke/heroin high.

Well Kevin Smith once said that in Hollywood you fail upwards. I expect him to be running Fox before the year is out.

The closest comparison I've found to this Fantastic Four film is Dragonball Evolution. Taking a look at that...

Well damn. James Wong went from directing DBE to being an executive producer on the very popular television series American Horror Story. Looking further, Emmy Rossum and Justin Chatwin landed parts on a successful series (Shameless), Brian Tyler scored some Marvel Studios movies, and even the freakin' cinematographer got to move on to Game of Thrones.

Clearly the folks working on The Fantastic Four will move on to very successful television careers and a few of them might move over to (real) Marvel work. Why, Josh Trank may even get to PRODUCE that home renovation show, not just handle the demolition work!

I see some of you waste no time believing nasty rumors about the dude who dared change a fictional villain's name.

Crazy rumor, but when you see the lack of news on this atrocity you get the feeling somethings up whether true or not.

If it comes out that Disney took him of star wars then you know this thing is real.

Nasty rumors aside, there's a very plausible report that Fox approached other directors to replace him prior to filming and MBJ himself has acknowledged that he got the starring role in the film without even having to audition. There's more than just Domashev wrong here. Fox was at least a bit nervous about the guy and he hired his buddy as the lead without giving anyone else a chance to actually earn the job.

DISCLAIMER: I think MBJ's a good actor. I just think it's bs that he automatically got the part because Trank was directing.

If word got out that my hot shot director had "allegedly" gone maniac and trashed a ritzy house in a drugged out diva rage I would certainly want to repudiate those "rumors" as soon as possible.

Actors will almost always get work. James Wong on the other hand had a pretty successful film career going with the FINAL DESTINATION movies. He hasn't directed a film in the six years since DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION, and only two episodes of television. Wong is only a producer on "AHS", it's very much Ryan Murphy's baby. The writer of DE hasn't had a script produced since either. Chatwin and Rossum both had pretty promising movie careers before it as well and DE pretty much stopped them in their tracks and both have basically only worked on "Shameless" since. Not that it's a bad show, but it's not movie stardom. I'm sure Mara, Jordan, Teller and especially Bell will be fine. Trank, I'm not so sure.

Haha, Vanilla Ice! That was funny.

My previous post was mostly sarcastic, but I did want to throw this out there in regards to the writer of DBE: it was James Wong. From what I understand, the script as used in the film is basically a James Wong rewrite that went uncredited. DBE was also largely a studio executive dictated film (made obvious by blatantly ripping off other properties like Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender). DBE probably didn't have much of a negative impact on Ben Ramsey's career. He just wasn't really a big name to begin with.

But yeah, the (main) FF cast will be fine. They were smart enough to focus on other projects, anyway. Hell, it looks like they've moved on already. They've kept quiet on FF and started hyping up other work. The hype train for Creed (set to star MBJ) has already started, and that thing isn't even filming for a little while. The script only recently got finished.

All cast will be fine. MBJ is really well liked. Miles Teller seems to be on a roll. Jamie Bell has Tintin if they actually move forward and he has Turn on AMC. Mara has roles coming up too.

This wont hurt them at all. The only casualty might be Trank and that is only if these rumors are true and those rumors cause Disney to drop him.

Haha, Vanilla Ice! That was funny.

I made another funny.

Pron maybe? With the way things are going with F4, "grounded and gritty" may fit the dirty version of the movie better and be more faithful to the comics. :wow:

Exactly. And it's not like they even have to address the rumors directly. They could just release a photo of Trank in the editing room.

But the rumors are becoming so widespread that, combined with the deafening silence from Fox, I'm pretty sure there are some ugly things going on.

I suspect this may already be the case, but they probably won't make a big announcement about it.

Since Trank wouldn't have started until he finished FF anyway, Disney is probably quietly looking for replacements and someone will be announced once the Trank rumors have been more or less broadly confirmed.
