The Rebooted "Keep Hope Alive" (that the rights can revert back to Marvel) Thread - Part 9

Feige and Gun;s quote prove now more than ever that treating some people here like me or Vile like the ENEMY because we tell you things how they are even if you don't like them, is plain wrong.

You aren't doing good to anyone hyping up "rights reversions" every Comic-con and trying make tv deals more complicated than they are. You are raising people hopes only to crush them down in the process. The rights aren't coming back for a while and this is the reality.

Trying to call people out saying they are making double profiles to try and bring the whole mood down is idiotic and pedantic. If i say that the economy of a country sucks, i;m honest not evil. It's time to face the music. The rights aren't back and the tv deal is just for extra influence and revenue. Simple as that. Face the damn music.

Meh. There's also a fair chance they are intentionally hiding the deal. I'd say there's still a 10-15% chance of that, and that goes up to 40% if it's just Silver Surfer/Galactus. After all, we have conflicting stories from Gunn about Ego and we also know Feige wasn't being totally honest in the quote cited (he implied Fan4stic was mostly good, for heaven's sake.)

The whole television rights situation is a huge coincidence otherwise and it's truly difficult to see what Marvel was thinking. That being said, you are right, no one is the enemy here.

Like I said.....nobody knows what's going on behind the scenes except the principals. There might be some backroom deals and maybe not. I don't think there's really any music to face. We just don't know and ALL of us are guessing.

Gunn doesn't lie to fans. It's one of his principles. If he says Marvel doesn't have the rights, then Marvel doesn't have the rights. You are trying to see sea where there is only sand. There is nothing there.

Why is this so hard for some of you? Why is acceptance so difficult that you have to manufacture deals and shady transcactions?

We're going to keep talking about licensing arrangements, tin foil hat conspiracy theories and the possibility of Comic-Con announcements as we have long before you decided to bless us with your profound knowledge of undisclosed television licensing deals. If you don't like it, leave.

And i'm gonna ground everyone to reality and when an actual hint or concrete evidence arises, i will share the optimism and hype with everyone else.

Until then, the UFO over Phoenix talk is going to have a counter-voice that is more close to reality. It's much better people have a realistic expectations than delusions like you and some othes spread in the last comic-con. If you don't like that, leave....

At this point I think it's best to wait for the rights expiration and hoping that we don't hear anything about Fox's plans for the franchise.

I have to admit, part of me wants to see Fox announce they're making another film just to watch the internet burn.:woot:

No one's saying you should stop using your clearly superior intellect to drop knowledge on the unwashed masses who enjoy posting on this board and talking about the FF and the possibility of their entrance into the MCU. But if the discussion is getting too much for you feel free to find a safe space elsewhere.

Knowledge? mere logic and i;m not even the first one to point those things out. It's you that choose to reject them because you don't like what you see and hear like a kid learning that Santa Claus doesn't exist.

Please try and not appear so salty. It's not me you should be angry about but Fox. I'm just the messenger...

I'm not salty at all. I'm going to keep posting here, as I've done for years, and I (and others)will continue to discuss every bit of info regarding FOX and Marvel and tortorously link it to rights reversion. Feel free to join us. Or not.

I will feel free to shoot down any unfounded speculation that is based on mere fanboyism and impatience for rights to revert.

In addition i will encourage any leak or scoop from respectable sources that hints at something to come.

This is what i have been doing and this is what i plan on doing. Discussion doesn't mean agreeing and encouraging baseless optimism. If facts arise, i will be there...

Feel free to endure me for a while...

You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

It would be kinda fun to watch them scramble to make another movie if not for the fact it's yet another blatant property rights holding movie.

Considering that Fant4stic was a critical and box office train wreck, do you think that FOX would try again?

People speculate all the time on the forum and the FACT of the matter is that no one really knows what's going on. Not you, not me, no one on this thread. So, if you want to voice your opinion that people don't know what's going on, I don't think anyone has a problem with it. Certainly I don't.

I would imagine that Marvel hasn't had any kind of serious discussion with Fox in regards to a early reversion of the Fantastic Four as of yet, so Gunn's and Feige's comments don't really bother me too much. If they do make any attempt, I think it probably wont be until Phase 3 is starting to wind down.

But while I remain hopeful of an earlier reversion, I am staring to think that it is more likely that Marvel may be content just to wait it out and let the rights quietly revert in 2022. I think they may be willing to call Fox's bluff in regards to whether or not they'll make another FF film.

Yeah. I mean WHY WOULD Marvel try to enter into negotiations at this point? IMO, it would be bad policy. The stage is set for the next 3 years for crying out loud. Even if they cut a deal next year, I seriously doubt we'd see a FF movie before 2023.

Marvel has their table set for well into the 2020s, they can't be in any hurry. They've got BP, DS, CM, AM, GotG and who knows what else waiting for movie slots. If Fox approached them, it would be a different story.

Exactly. Part of their calculus has to be why should they have to give anything up when they can get the property back for free in only five years? Not to mention, a longer gap between a MCU reboot and the Trank film can only help the prospects of a new film with the GA.

The fan boy in me hopes it happens sooner, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have wait awhile longer.

Yep, and from a negotiating point of view, it helps their position to act disinterested.

From Gunn's comments, it sounds like Fox approached Marvel for the NTW/Ego deal, and that may be Marvel's strategy - wait for Fox to approach them.

Yup.

And the waiting and speculating game continues...

I didn't think that the FF rights have reverted at this time, I admit, but it's kinda fun to speculate for the time being. The Fantastic Four will return to Marvel eventually, unless FOX is foolish enough to try again...

I almost kind of want to see the crud storm that would happen if they do try.
