Gotham The Man Before The Smile

I hope they don't do any Red Hood stuff. I've always found that part of Joker's origin so hokey. I like the idea of him being a struggling comedian who gets forced into helping some criminals and ultimately gets disfigured because of it. But having him wear a bright red tin can on his head (along with white gloves and a cape) has always seemed so stupid to me and something they should have left back in the days where Batman flashed a toothy grin in every comic panel.

The red hood doesn't have to be shaped like a tin can. I prefer the Red Hood origin to a failed comedian who falls into a vat of acid and just happens to end up looking like a clown. I like my Joker having had close mafia ties before his bad day.

Given the number of origin stories for the Joker it would be fun if they had a different character for each one. Then never confirm which one becomes the Joker.

After seeing the Pilot, the guy they have cast as the "Comedian" has a forgettable look.

If it's leaked, I'm legitimately murdering someone. :o

It leaked on June 7, via twitter along with the Flash pilot which is all over reddit.

If Fish Mooney is laughing her head off (like in the script), then I don't think that comedian should be the Joker. He has to be a guy nobody laughs at. He's only funny through his psychotic brazen boldness :o

True, but they way they filmed him on the show doesn't make him seem like a one off character. He isn't even listed as comedian on IMDB, which I find strange but he looks rather ordinary.

I think they must be talking about the script, because I've heard literally nothing about this, and if The Flash and Constantine are any indication, I'd be hearing about this ad nauseum by now. :o

Either way, this is something that needs to be stopped. One pilot, whatever. Then two, and now three? There's a problem that needs to be solved here.

Every role he's been in has been nothing but background characters :hehe:

Even though he's been in high profile films :wow:

Nope, the pilot, there was a leak earlier this month. The CAA site had all the pilots from all the network upfronts. They changed the password about an hour afterwards.

Yeah, I like the idea of the Joker being an absolutely hopeless comedian... the kind of guy who THINKS his jokes are hilarious but fails miserably night after night.

If there is one thing that I liked about zero year, it's how they seemed to show the joker's origins, only to tell you "but maybe he's this one dude. Or this other. Or none of them".

I think that's where they're going by what one of them said. Red herrings.

I don't want to see "The Joker" until the presumed final season of the show. Obviously, he can't have his accident, either, so I'm not sure what the angle will be in portraying the pre-Joker as a character. Was he always a gangster? Was he some frustrated local stand-up comedian?

The Joker on #Gotham? Bruno Heller said it won't be week after week guessing game, but they will play with identity a bit #TCA14

They'll have to be careful with that, it could get old real fast.
I just hope they don't EVER say, "Yes, this guy's the one."

I think that's why they're not doing the week after week thing like many have talked about.
