The Man of Steel Merchandise Thread - Part 1

If anyone was wondering ... the 12 foot Man of Steel merchandise run in front of the electronics departments has finally shown up ... I assume everywhere. They should be set out sometime next week before tickets go on sale next Saturday, so will get some prime space advertising.

Otherwise, the trailer has been playing several times an hour ... and we have standees of Superman advertising tickets and what not already.

BTW, the suit does show yellow on the standee, but it's slightly darker than what we've seen in the recent trailers & tv spots.

I might have to pick up a t-shirt & poster. :) (I don't collect the figures)

nothing has shown up here except for the floor standee talking about the movie tickets and where the movie will be shown

You wouldn't see it on the floor (it's still in back boxed up from delivery ... it just showed up last night) ... it's not allowed to be set until Next week some time closer to ticket release.

I thought you meant it had been placed on the floor. I imagine it will be put up on the 15th or 16th

Nope, I just meant you should start seeing them here shortly ...

Do your standees have the ticket prices ... here it's $8 for 2D & $11 for 3D, so they're not charging higher prices than normal ... hell, the $8 is actually $2 less than a regular night ticket here.

I can't imagine 150 tickets for each format is going to last very long ... especially in larger areas.

If the film is amazing, I'll probably see that ... and then go to the midnight later.

How early are you guys planning on getting there for the tickets?

Yeah, remember tickets go on sale at 8 AM on Saturday 18th ... :)

Fully respect your opinion Zim, i honestly hope medicom makes a 6" version of Superman like they did with Batman, that looks better than any figure Mattel can make.

Thanks batsncats- I hope medicom or one the other Japanese come out with something amazing. I would love to get one of those t-shirts but would not have any place to wear it unless I was attending a comic con. I do however have a superman logo shirt that is fashion forward its in those urban shirt style and looks great with a pair of jeans and a blazer. I get a lot of compliments but my wife rarely lets me wear it. If I were still in school though I would so be rocking some of the designs I have seen on this board My fav is the black with silver logo.

Bought this today. Paid way more than I would have preferred , but they did not have my size anywhere other than ebay

This is the design I love. Would love to get one but no way my wife will let me wear it in public, unless I was at a comic con. Perhaps I can get one as a night shirt to wear in the house. Were can one find this design besides eBay? She will certainly not agree to me splurging on eBay for it. I am hoping that in time I can find one in my size.

Have yet to find MOS t-shirts in stores, and the movie masters figures are disappointing. Sigh... merchandise is bumming me out

My wife doesn't like it when I wear batman/superman shirts when I'm with her in public, probably because I'm ten years younger than her, and I look even younger than I am (27).

I went to a target that had the MM figures in stock (according to their system), but they said they couldn't sell them until the 26th. Annoying. I kind of get the feeling that, while they may not be going out until the 26th, they could have sold them, but the worker just said that so she wouldn't need to find them out back. Whatever.

I also went to a Wal-Mart. No luck on the MM end of things, but all their TVs had the trailer playing.

They weren't being honest with you. I went earlier this week and there was no pushback at all about getting the figs from the back. The person at customer service (where I always go) was super nice and let me take my time looking through the figures for the ones with the best paint. May 26th is the reset date, but the shelf date for the figs have long since passed.

Same here. I picked up a second complete set from my local target as well. Had the employee pull the case from the back using the DPCI code. They did state that the figures may have a hard street date then they may not be able to sell them to me as they will pop up with a no sell date via the computer system after scanning the bar code. However after the employee scanned the supes figure they came up $15.99 and had no issue buying them.

Heh. You guys and your WIVES..... :whatever:

It's OK, you can live vicariously through me!!

Picked up this great Tee today at Target and for only $12.99. Got my shirt ready for the 6/13/13 7:00 p.m. premier!

Also i'll be at Walmart bright and early on May 18th around 6:30 a.m. just in case. Seeing as how each walmart correlates with the theater they are selling the tickets for, the theater i want to see the film in is very popular as it has an IMAX screen as well. Also the walmart selling those tix for that theater gets a lot of business.

Last week my Wal-Mart's had plenty of movie masters and they have all be wiped out when I checked this weekend. Hope this doesn't become a regular thing.

I was just at Target last night. Didn't see any Man of Steel shirts, but got my girl a nice and shiny "S" shield shirt. She's ready for the premier :woot:

We also went to my "Five & Below" store and she also spotted Superman posters hanging out, one of them being the Comic Con Man of Steel poster! I was fired up to see it. The other was Jim Lee's "Heat Vision" Supes.

Here were the two posters I got for just $5 each:

It's good to have that one since I got the Man of Steel "handcuffed" Superman poster from Total Film magazine.
