Love that picture.

Ladies and gentlemen...i present to you...the perfect replacement for Heath Ledger as the next joker:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

the guy is an amazing actor and completely under appreciated/used. Go see The Lookout and you'll know what i'm talking about. He also looks a like a cross between Heath and the comic book Joker.

Whaddoya say people?

I still don't understand why you would intentionally cast someone who looks like Heath.

and that fact that no one would be suggesting this guy if he DIDN'T look like Heath....that's just laughable :o :down

I'd much rather have Rose Byrne, Abbie Cornish, Sienna Miller, Scarlet Johanson or Zooey Deschanel take over from Ledger

I don't think he looks much like ledger, but he is one of the best young actors around.
Just for fun:

Stop this manip-replacement-recasting-whatever craze. Now. Or go to the proper thread, dammit

Why in the hell do people keep pushing out Daniel day Lewis all the time?

I don't know. He seems too eccentric. I mean, didn't he once run out of a play because he saw his fathers ghost? I could never trust a guy who would screw over a paying audience like that.

I cant speak for others but I know exactly why I say it, and its simply because the man is one of the greatest actors alive. Not only that, but he bears a strong resemblance to Heath REGARDLESS of his age, as people love to bring up. During his SAG award speech where he dedicated it to Heath, he looked almost exactly like him, all the way to the hair, and didn't look a day older. Let's not forget the character wears makeup as well, I damn near couldn't recognize Ledger's age either.

More importantly however, is the fact that the man is a method actor to the 10th degree. He's walked off a set or two, and disrupted some plays for sure, but he's also broken ribs playing a cripple because he refused to break character, he learned how to live in the wilderness for real for the Last of the Mohicans, he got pneumonia in the Gangs of New York because, in keeping with the time period, he refused to wear a better coat. Do you understand that level of seriousness is what made Ledger's Joker so good, his total commitment? A method actor himself, Ledger was locked away in a hotel trying to create something special, thats what the role requires, and I guarantee you, NOBODY would be more committed to the role than DDL. He's the real deal, plain and simple

Wait, been confirmed yet? Did Nolan announce that he definitely wanted Joker in Batman 3?

No, nothing's been announced - including whether or not there's even going to be a third film (which I'm sure there will be, it just hasn't been announced yet). Everything is just a bunch of rumors right now.

I'm going to take the Nolans at their word that they haven't even thought about a third film yet. And if they do, I'll put money on them doing something fresh and not using the Joker again.

Was it true that the Nolans or Goyer had part 2 and 3 already written? Then Heaths unfortunate death obviously meant they had to re-think a 3rd? I sure I heard this a few months back.
If they do a 3rd i think the joker will have to be included somehow, I just feel the way they built the character up in TDK it would be dissapointing if we never see the Nolan take on Joker again. Obviously no dissrespect to Heath but I would really try to find a way of including him.

Well, Goyer had a trilogy planned out, but it had the Joker scarring Harvey in part 3. And unless the Nolans have a trick up their sleeve, we've already seen Harvey's entire story in part 2, so I'd say Goyer's original trilogy doesn't matter much since they've already given us the most important part of it in the second film.

You might just get banned for that, its illegal, I would edit that immediately!

Why? You realize Mod's are not playing around, right?

not to mention he had a great admiration for Heath,so you know he would treat teh role with respect

I'm not denying he's a great actor, he's phenomenal. But I'm just wondering how anyone could trust the guy after his ghost incident. I mean, what if you're filming Batman 3 with him, he's got all the makeup on and then he just waltzes right out of there?
You wouldn't expect such unprofessionalism with most other people but he's someone who's done it before.
Honestly, I'd love him as The Joker if I was sure he wouldn't have some sort of "freak out".

Although, for a sense of decency, I feel that any announcement as to a recast should wait for at least a year. I'm not against a new Joker but feel that it would be best to wait for a long time before announcing someone new.

Hey, dont call too much attention to yourself for doing something that dumb.

So because you don't believe in ghost, you can't trust him?

I believe in ghosts. I just don't believe that seeing one should be reason enough to screw over a paying audience like that. Even if he did see his father I can't abide by that level of unprofessionalism.

Dark Globe, I know you replied to this post but for some reason it's not showing up.
