The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

I thought that was brilliant

Yeah, with all his little mannerisms and weird noises I could really believe that The Joker was a clown rather than a guy with a white face who kills people. In fact, I'm of the persuasion that he was a clown of sorts before he got the scars.
Ledger was just so clownish, especially the little "ra-tum-ta-tum-ta-tum" noise he makes while lifting up Dent's hospital bed. The whole world is his circus and he is the grinning, crazy ringmaster.
God, I wouldn't want to be "cheered up" by that guy.

even dyed hair and applied lipstick have been shown in various depictions before

^^^was a response to this.

and again, what is your point? if you were just making an observation than cool but if you have a point you are trying to make, i am missin' it.

(shrugs)

Er...it was just an observation, nothing deep or profound I was trying to share, lol.

God that freaks me out so much. A charismatic murder at that.

Yeah, I bet clowns around the world hate Heath's performance because now because of him everybody is a little bit more scared of them:clown::woot:.

I've seen TDK five times now and still I don't see Ledger, just The Joker. He is so good in the movie.

^agreed. if i didnt know ledger was in it and the joker was uncredited i dont think in a million years i would think "hey thats heath ledger!!"

na i've always hated clowns, ever since i see I.T when i was a lil kid. i would have knightmares about getting chased by them and then when i woke up covered in cold sweat absolutly bricking myself i was surrounded by more of them!!! i had clown wallpaper!!

The Ace of Knaves....nice name change. Much better

haha cheerz man, i was wanting to do it for ages and i only found out to do it the other day.

Every time I would show a picture of Joker or one of the Joker heavy trailers so someone who didn't follow the movie as much or at all, I'd always get a "Who's the guy playing the Joker?"

I'd say, "Heath Ledger."

And I'd get a "HOLY ****! REALLY? Wow."

^ haha word. well anywayz im off to smoke a bean and watch the greatest movie ever again!!! hooohahahahahaheheehahahaha

I'm curious fellow batfans

Which of the 4 Actors that has portrayed The Clown Prince Of Crime (either Live Action or in Animation) has had The Best maniacal laughter of THE JOKER of all time ?

jokerLineup.jpg

A. Cesar Romero in the 1960s Batman television series

B. Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film Batman

C. Mark Hamill in the 1990s Batman: The Animated Series

D. Heath Ledger in the 2008 film The Dark Knight

For me As Much I loved Ledger outstanding award wining performance in TDK. Hamill wins this one easily his laughter as Mr. J in the BTAS will always be Legendary. No one will ever top him .

yea i love TAS joker, the laugh is spot on. but heaths still my favourite, i've always wanted to see a "street" joker.

Hamill has the best laugh, but Heath portrayed the character the best overall, IMO.

I love all four of them because they each represent the Joker from different eras in the comics. None of them are a wrong interpretation of the character.

YEA EXACTLY. they are all different portrayals, everyone can have a favourite portrayal but to be honest i'm sick of people saying "so n so is best" or "na his joker was crap". they are all accurate depictions of him, just from different times.

So, I've been thinking about this, in TDK do they hint that the Joker's name is Melvin White?

Could someone post some good links to Hamill examples please? I have not seen much of TAS.
