" Did I ever tell you how I got these scars ? I was working at an exotic pet store, and the owner bet me five bucks I wouldn't French kiss a pms-ing ocelot !"

Very funny TDK spoof (the Dork Knight) in the latest issue of Mad Magazine (# 495).

3rd post sorry.
I love the way Heath rearranges his hair after taking off his wig in the hospital, so natural and organic.
On a related note, his hair is my favourite cinematic or TV Joker hair. Even though it looks like he's wearing extensions, it feels much more real than any of his predecessors (Conrad included even though he's not technically the Joker).

I was really hoping that he would have short hair after posing as the cop. So that he would start to look a bit more like the comic book version as the film progressed.

why bother trying to give him the "classical" look halfway through the film? They made the right choice to just go all-out grunge like they did

speaking of the cop scene anyone else get a "man who laughs"* vibe?

*the old film not the joker comic.

Just bought the new Batman Confidential featuring the Joker and I regret it. The art is really bad, don't buy it.

I've seen that before.. I thought it looked like crap then and I still think that now. They made him look fat. Definitely not worth $300... it's not even worth half that much. If I was going to dish out that kind of dough for a bust, it would be for the one of the comic book Joker they did. It's of much better quality than that TDK Joker bust.

Does anyone have one of the concept arts where Joker's scars is infected? Someone on another mention that and I don't see it anywhere. Can someone help me out?

It's horrendous. The hair, the lips, the eyes all look dreadful.

But I love the statue they made of him standing on the deck of cards. That stands proudly on my shelf.

Ok. First off the Joker doesn't care about money as long as he has enough to blow things up, yet he'll kill all his henchmen just to keep all his loot from a heist. What I don't understand is how these henchmen with the skills they have are so expendable. Not to mention what are they doing wrong that they don't have well paying jobs, and are just street level bums that can be recruited for bank heists. So the Joker is extremely trustworthy to the point he can get people to work for him with the promise of financial gain despite him wasting all his stooges on previous robberies.

Next the Joker decides to take Harvey Dent under his wing and show him the light by teaching him to be spontaneous and not a schemer. Harvey Dent was simply a district attorney trying to clean up the streets of Gotham and taking it one day at a time. Joker teaches him to be spontaneous with such a long drawn out and complicated plan, that everyone involved knowingly or not has to act precisely to his plans with little to no room for error.

Now we have Gordon pointing out that Joker wasn't anywhere in the system as far as real name, aliases, fingerprints, or DNA. And no one in the criminal underworld knew of him till the events of the movie. Does that mean there's just some guy that basically hung out in a purple suit and some clown make up on stand by waiting for the off chance a super hero might come about?

Oh and let's not forget that the Joker doesn't like guns and prefers knives...except for the five or six times he shoots people in the movie.

1. I was under the impression that the Joker had a very close-knit, loyal "crew" that were his "full-timers" and were attracted to his charisma, and hired the bank jobs out to thugs so he could dispose of them. His real henchman were the insane guys like Schiff and the cell-phone fatty. The other guys were just hired help.

2. Joker was obviously lying in the hospital to Harvey, because he wanted Harvey to go on a rampage, so i don't see what the issue is....

3. Who said he hadn't been heard of...? The goons at the beginning talked about him like he was an urban legend ("i know why they call him the Joker," "he wears makeup...like war paint," etc.)

4. He shoots people out of necessity, stabs people out of pleasure.

It seems you took some of the dialogue and implications of the film way too literally

My my curious one aren't we.I wonder if I could answer all these questions before its merged or closed.

Don't forget he was already opperating at the end of Begins, so we know that Joker was running around Gotham for at least a year before the events in TDK. And remember at the beginning of TDK, Batman is dismissive about Joker when Gordon asks - treating him as one small time crook they can set aside because they're going after a much bigger fish.

To paraphrase TAS Batman... "Everything the Joker does makes sense to him alone."

It's simple. The Joker loves to create mayhem. Everything he does is just to see what'll happen and to mess with people.

He's basically in pursuit of the ultimate mind-****.

Why does he shoot his fellow bank robbers? Why not? A normal robbery is boring.
I does he talk Harvey into going on a rampage? Because he wants to spread the mayhem. The only thing Joker needs beyond messing with people is a companion in messing with people...however his addiction to choas conflicts with any friendship he might make.
