The New NEW Exiles??

I liked some of Bedard's stories. His first few were sort of lukewarm, then he put Spider-Man 2099 and Power Princess on the team and it picked up, and then he offed Morph in the worst way I could imagine and I quit reading Exiles.

I thought it was clever. Insreada just killin' him off they made him the ultimate prison.

Bedard did the classic "army of Wolverines" two-parter.

I was rereading some of my old exiles trades and man, Winnick was producing some good f**king comics. Man, when they were trapped on that planet run by Skrulls, and ended up having to fight in gladiatorial combat with other superheros, and Mimic fought Cap and blasted his ass into the wall then gave the crowd the middle finger? Awesome. And when they took on Galactus and Thunderbird punched right through his armor and put that bomb in him? Good God I miss good exiles.

And what about when they had to stop the Pheonix, and to make sure they weren't found out Mimic had to take out Wolverine?

That was awesome too, and so was Mimic versus Namor.

There were tons of cool issues that weren't all about Mimic though, but yeah, I miss those too.
Those were the issues I felt I HAD to buy.

I wish Mimic hadn't gotten killed off. F*** Blink, Mimic and Morph were the best characters on the team, yet they're gone and Blink keeps f***ing coming back.

Or the first time they ran into Weapon X, and realized that a second team was created to do the more down and dirty deeds needing to be done.

Or one of my favorite stories from the Exiles, when we first learned that Morph was more than just an excuse for sillyness. When he fell in love with Sunfire, only to learn that he couldn't have her due to her being gay. That issue with them talking through his feelings was heartbreaking. :csad:

Yeah, that and the issue where they got Stuck in the Mojoverse were big character stories for Morph. Man, whatever happened to Nocturne? Last I saw she got stuck in the 616 for awhile. Did she ever get back?

She joined New Excalibur. Not sure what happened to her after that because Claremont wrote New Excalibur.

That sucks. They could have at least let her go back to her own universe. Or somehow get together with T-Bird for a happy ending. I don't care if I ever see the character in another comic again, it just would have been nice to see at least one of the original cast get a happy ending.

She went back after the Exiles/Excalibur mini. She basically reunited with T-Bird and they left to some unknown reality to live their lives together...since you know, neither character fit Claremonts grand scheme.

On the other hand, seeing how he handled Sabertooth and Morph, I'm glad her and T-Bird escaped the raping.

Oh, wow. Well, that's awesome. That's exactly what I wanted.

Morph was dead before Claremont ever came onboard. :o

I'm glad Nocturne and Thunderbird got a happy ending.

Well, to do so he had to totally ignore dealing with the aborted baby (Claremont's ridiculous justification: that's a matter between them, not between them and the readers, so there was no need to show it).

Eh, I'd never read it anyway so the details don't matter. Just as long as TJ and John are happy.

Yea, I was happy that at least they ended the series together, since they had one of the more interesting stories earlier in the series.

What if one of the new Exiles stories dealt with Thunderbird and Nocturne in that other reality? Either they have to stop something they were doing, or team up with them, or perhaps just a cameo and see where they are now.

That would be nice. I was surfing deviant art and just came across an awesome pic begging to be put in exile team so i'm working on that right now!

I finally read the first issue. Apparently, it sold out at my shop last week, which is cool. It was a good first issue and I immediately liked the Panther. Morph as the Timebroker was sort of random; I hope we get some more backstory on how the hell that happened. And Blink is so very clearly hiding something. I wonder if the most recent team of Exiles are still at the Panoptichron, testing out possible new recruits.

Did anyone catch the hint that this Blink may not be the Blink from the original Exiles?

Also Corp just for your info: Morph is now Morph, in a way.
There was a story where Proteus came back to the fore of Morph's mind, and started doing damage. Long story short, his powers were shorting out, and it turns out that Morph's mind was still in there. Appearantly Morph could sense a desire in Proteus to do good, he just didn't know how or something like that.

All in all Morph convinced Proteus to let them merge and share the body so that they could do good. Proteus agreed, so they both share Morph's body with Morph in control. So at least now it is Morph, with a second psyche in there with him.

No, where was that? I figured she was, since the Morphbroker only showed them 5 tombstones representing their deaths in each universe. We know Blink's not dead in her universe, since she already went back once before.

So here's a new team from my wildest imagination across company lines I mean it would be crazy best selling and the idea works because they are pulling from alternate realities anyways, tell me what yall think:

Batman

The leader of the team and wearer of the talus is Dick Grayson. In his reality after Batman had his back broken he never comes back he becomes Oracle and Dick reluctantly take up the title. And while he's his own batman after a couple of years of seeing the worst in the world and losing his own robin (tim died while working with him) He's very jaded just like the original.

Silver Surfer

Same basic premise Norrin Radd sacrificed himself to save his world from Galactus but heros and people are freaked by him and his amazing power as are his new teamates. Strangely probably the kindest and most human of the group.

Forge

The techno guru of the bunch he's about 50/50 cyborg. On his world the native american culture has very samurai type roots and they primarily fight with a sword's made by the hunter. His sword however is a tech augmented soul sword from former lover Majik who when she went insane and nearly killed everyone had him use her sword to end it.

Power Girl

Kara Zor-L was jettisoned from her planet before it's impending doom much like her cousin superman but her space ship traveled much slower when she finally arrived he body had aged to 18 years old but her mind was only that of a ten year old. She has extremely black and white ideas of what right and wrong, she is easily upset (which can be quite dangerous), and she is unaware the effect she has on men or why they like her:cwink:

Dark Devil

Matt Murdock was one of the finest heros of his world until the Kingpin exposed his identity and framed him for the murder of Karen page his wife who was actually killed by bullseye. He was consumed with rage and revenge. He sought out the hand to add mysticism to his arsenal and went on to kill bullseye and kingpin and anyone else who might get in his way.

Jubilee

In her reality Mr. Sinister captured her and experminted on her trying to synthesize her powers for himself chiding her that she could be so much more. Eventually he enhanced her but couldn't duplicate it. During one exceptionally brutal session Jubilation Lee's mind snapped she broke free and detonated matter at a sub-atomic level, which in theory is the equivalent of a fusion bomb. Having escaped sinister she went on the run afraid to let anyone close to her for fear of losing control of her incredible power. It took wolverine and professor x to retrieve her and help her gain control. She is now one of the most powerful mutants on her world.

Jason Rusch is a young black teenager who was sought out by a dying Ronald Raymond the nearly infinate power was consuming him and he had to find a new host. Rusch was dying of cancer but had a good heart and wanted to live. So the boy was saved a painful slow death but cursed to know with all his power he still eventually will die like Raymond. But he goes on to fight the good fight and look for a cure.

I think it was in an annual where that happened. It was a weird story basically written just to do away with that bad plot point.

I don't get why people are up in arms about the whole Morph/Proteus deal.

Morph aint human..he doesnt even have a normal brain..so its more stupid that Proteus would be able to take him over in the 1st place.

But It also provides plenty of "fudge room" that Morph would be able to recover from a Proteus possession.

I alos send the "why the F does ever writer love Blink so much" she has neat powers..but is overrall an average character.
