Ok, so this has been going through my head for a while, and now I just have to say this:
I'm not hyped for The Dark Knight Rises, at all! I loved the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, but I just don't know about this one yet... the trailer didn't exactly impress me that much, and my feelings towards this film are pretty bland. I'm sure it will be great once I see it, but for know the movie just doesn't seem that interesting to me

If you feel the same way, feel free to talk about it, and why you feel this way

This is no thread for me, I've never been more hyped for a movie before. :word:

Seriously, i'm very excited for Hardy's Bane and Hathaway's Catwoman. Bale's Batman/Bruce Wayne bores me though. And i don't want to be reminded of how depressing the worlds economic situation is in a big budget superhero movie thankyou very much.

I took a vacation from work to see this film as much as possible, so that's how excited I am for this film.

But, A buddy of mine is really on the fence. He's not too keen on the Catwoman costume, and he wanted the film to feature the following:

Harley Quinn, The Penguin, The Riddler, and someone taking over for The Joker. :(

Its kind of hard not punching him in the face, but it's his opinion.

My mom was floored when I showed her the trailer (She gasped when the football stadium collapsed).

I understand why many would feel this way. Hell, in a sense, I feel this way, too. My gut tells me it's gonna be a phenomenal movie, but what it doesn't tell me is why exactly.

By April 2008 we knew a lot more about TDK than we do now about TDKR. Joker's look back then was more acclaimed than CW's is now. Of course, perhaps I should be comparing Joekr to Bane and CW to 2Face, but the fact remains that her look is not nearly universally praised, unlike the Joker's. The trailers also evoke different feelings than the TDK ones. The TDK teaser was met with more enthusiasm than TDKR's. This movie, as of now, looks less... "fun" than TDK, which looked like it was full of explosions and s**t. Not that this one won't have tons and tons of action (people said it's more action packed than TDK), I'm just saying what it looks like on the surface. The Avengers hype doesn't help TDKR's case, either. Those who criticize TDK for being "ashamed of being a superhero movie" or "not fun" or "not entertaining" or "not comic booky enough" etc etc, find all those missing elements in The Avengers, so why anticipate TDKR? What proof, other than the prologue, do we have of the movie's awesomeness or of the characters' badassery? They're there, but where are they exactly?

So, yeah, right now, things are pretty dead for TDKR. Having said that, once the poster and trailer debuts, I'm sure this will change, perhaps to the point where we'll be cursing the moment we clicked on the link for TV Spot #8 or something.
