You know, I always found it odd how Batman and Gotham went from being 1930's with no color tv to suddenly being contemporary on the same scale of Gotham. I always liked 1930's Batman. I hope that's how 1st Wave portrays him.

The first few seasons of Batman:TAS were a little inconsistent with technology. The TVs were still in black & white, but Bruce also watched black & white TV as a kid. In real life, it only took about a decade for TV to get color. There were modern and futuristic computers everywhere and the Riddler's maze video game looked like something for an Atari, but this series was airing when I was playing the Genesis and SNES in real life. The cars looked like they came from the 1940's, and I'd say the style of dress for people of Gotham lined up with the 40's and 50's as well. Then there was that episode where Harley Quinn was out on parole, and her style was more modern/90's.

Don't get me wrong, it totally worked for the show. It's just that Gotham existed in a time all its own.

I heard or read one time that the show's style was suppossed to be "What If the Worlds Fair had continued till today?"
Things were meant to have this sort of Art Deco, 1950s feel. And i think they wanted the show and Gothem to be sort of timeless.
Not the past, not the future, not the present.

Yup. They talk about that in the first volume of BTAS DVDs. Good stuff.

Coincidentally, I just finished going through Volume 1 earlier today, and started on the second set a little while ago. Watching "Perchance to Dream" right now. Bruce Wayne fighting against his own idyllic dream life = Hawt.

Such a fantastic concept. I love how they have that world's fair type park in mask of the phantasm.

Are there any good trades that deal with Dick's time as Robin, other than Dark Victory?

Oh yeah, I dunno why that one never crossed my mind. Still, are there any others?

Umm... War Games I guess, but not really. All the earthquake stuff is alright. He really shines in Teen Titans.

War Games? The quake? Bwuh? Dick was Nightwing during those times.

Oh! Dick's time as Robin!

...no idea. Flashbacks in Widening Gyre?

No, no it wasn't. The entire story was Batman driving around not getting anything done.

Nah, it was planned as a yearlong series like 52 and :angry:Countdown:angry:. It's all collected, if you feel like reading it.

I remember reading War Games a few years back. I grew tied of it.

SO which place is worse Gotham or Mos Eisley?

Hmm... scum and villainry or superstitious and cowardly lot? At least Mos Isley is bright. Less likely to get sphincter raped there I suppose.

You'd think that, but the two suns just mean you'll get sphincter raped in broad daylight.

And not make a noise when you fart. By product of Twi'lek head tail rape

****, I wouldn't mind going a round with her.
