Maybe you should take a deep breath and prepare yourself for the inevitable realization that not everyone is happy to eat up whatever crap gets thrown their way.

So your saying this movie is marvels crap it's throwing at us?

No, that's not at all what I'm saying, and that's a very clumsy attempt at putting words in my mouth. Don't do it again.

What I'm saying is this "be happy you're getting anything at all" attitude you're trying to peddle is crap. That line of thinking leads to studious pumping out long strings of mediocre X-Men movies because nobody bothers to voice their complaints.

I'm looking forward to this movie as much as anyone but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't annoyed that Wright's involvment led to the screwing of Hank & Jan out of their rightful status as founding Avengers.

So no, we can't all "just be happy" we're getting an Ant-Man movie. Everybody has different feelings on the subject and they won't always align, and even if someone has complaints it doesn't make them some unreasonable hater. This is a discussion forum, not a campfire for everyone to hold hands* and sing Kumbaya around.

*Everybody would be fighting over BatsDC's Evangeline-Lilly-fingers anyway.

But we haven't been screwed out of that.

I'm just saying it seems that even if they say they were founding members and pym started ultron it seems fans won't be happy because it's said not shown and that's silly.

If what your angry over is said to be true and what you want is true why be angry ? Because we don't get 2 hours of pym(which we prob will) and because janet isn't wasp(which she will most like)

I just ask of the fans of ant-man why are we mad? I understand we are fans on the Internet and we have to complain about everything it's what we do. But really would hank pym fans much rather him just not be part of the Mcu so that he isn't done wrong on screen?

Would we much rather have to tell ppl how cool antman is or should we be happy we get a live action antman?

I really wanna know cause every time I get on this forum , and this is my number 1 movie I've wanted since 2006 when they said we'd get an antman movie, it seems ppl just would rather this movie never happen so that why hank pym and janet don't get wronged(which they haven't yet cause haven't seen the freaking movie)

I don't even know what you're going on about. Nobody's "angry". You want angry head to the FF forum.

That's why I hate the Internet. I read something and I take it that ppl are angry and mad about pym and janet and I see it all the time. But hey you say no ones angry then I take your word for it.

I'm talking about right here, in this thread. I haven't recently noticed anyone ranting or throwing tantrums like you claim. These threads have been pretty civil as far as I have noticed.

There was a casting call for night shoots the other week for Ant-man in Atlanta.

Casting directors were looking for cops, board room members, news reporters and news crews.

I have a similar opinion to Whiskey.

That said, if they establish Jan was the 1st Wasp back then, and also that those two were the original members in a 1960's "Avengers Iniative", I would take huge comfort on that.

I'm hoping, even if they don't fully establish it, that they at least leave enough open to allow for a prequel movie of just that. Maybe not 1960s Avengers Initiative, but at least 1960s SHIELD.

I see the MCU as completely separate to the comics. They do what they do to service the movie and its overall place in their MCU plan. People are fine to be disappointed that the comic and movie don't align, e.g. Hank & Jan but this situation is what it is and isn't changing so a lot of people will continue to be disappointed until they begin to appreciate how separate the two things are and they simply service the way Marvel wants to tell those stories. Ultimately all that matters is that they make the best movie they can.

If they can show some flashbacks to Hank and Janet as Ant-man & Wasp that would be good. I think comic fans could live with that.

I wouldn't say having Janet missing or dead and Hank 70 years old is my ideal movie adaptation but ultimately as long as the film is good and entertaining I'll be happy. I'm not one of those fans that says if the movies isn't exactly like the comic or how I want it to be then I'll boycott the movie or whatever.

I will only be disappointed if they just introduce Pym and then kill him off to give Lang some cliché revenge plot. I hope Pym survives the film so that he can pop up in Civil War and interact with the other Avengers characters.

The thing is that to a extent, Feige and Co. have dug themselves a hole with the Ant-Man project which has now backfired. They did all these changes to the MCU in favor of Wright, selling the film entirely on Wright, even bluntly stating Wright is the only reason the film is being made. So when Wright stepped out of the equation, it caused only more rage for the fans that wanted to see Hank/Janet as we know them. Because now, theoretically speaking, there's nothing keeping them from joining the Avengers (or Ultron) other than bad timing.

Me personally, I'm becoming more and more at ease with the idea. That's not to say I accept them in the sense I'm looking forward to the film, as I still think the only reason Marvel is moving forward with this is due to already investing too much time and money in it (as well as image), but I can at least respect and admire how much they've grown since 2008, especially this year. And I think in retrospect, if they could go back in time, the Marvel of today would have included the young Hank and Jan in the Avengers from the beginning.

I still understand te sentiments of fans like Whiskey Tango, but that realization is enough for me to sorta be at peace with what they're doing now.

If Edgar didn't sell Marvel with his Ant-Man idea it would of been highly likely we would of seen Hank and Janet as contemporary Avengers.

While I do think Ant-Man being made has a lot of to do with Feige and co being enamoured with working with Edgar Wright I do also think that they did actually like the Snt-Man idea. I don't feel Marvel is just making the film to save face or because they have already invested in it.

You don't part with a director on the eve of production if your not passionate about the movie or don't care about it being success or not.

Marvel still has a lot too lose if this film flops or turns out terrible. A bad movie damages the Marvel studios brand. Also I think it is a pride with with guys at Marvel that they want to make the best movie possible with every film.

I think, though, the focus has shifted from "hey, let's make a cool little Edgar Wright cult film for Marvel!" to "hey, let's make a fun film that introduces these two iconic Avenger characters and eases them into the roster."

I still think they know they have a cult movie they're making.

All the signs point to this being marvels first comedy even more so then GotG. And all the talent involved are funny ppl that the a GA like.

all the 20 something's will see Rudd and funny jokes and "from the studio that brought you all those movies you've loved the past 5 years" this can be a huge sleeper hit.

Pretty sure a lot of cast members have said stuff about this not being a comedy anymore than the other Marvel Studios films.
