It'll end up being the most creative fight in the MCU behond Thor vs Malekith.
t:Someone made an excellent point on another board:
"The "Pym should be Ant-Man" debate is hilarious. First of all, Pym IS Ant-Man in the movie, only in flashbacks. Second of all, Pym was only Ant-Man for the first issue of Avengers before becoming Giant Man, and only even made 5 appearances in Avengers as Ant-Man after that between 1963 and 1998. He spent most of his time as Giant Man, Yellowjacket, and Goliath, and the rest of the time quitting the team or consulting sporadically. Meanwhile, Scott Lang has been nothing but Ant-Man since 1979. He wasn't even married to Jan that long. Why does anybody get riled up about Scott Lang as Ant-Man in a movie and not Barry Allen as Flash on a TV show or Hal Jordan as Green Lantern in a movie? By that rationale, it should be Jay Garrick and Alan Scott. I guess nobody's gonna angrily point out that Natasha Romanov isn't the original Black Widow, right?"
In the comics, yes. Don't know about in the movie.
Great post! However, on the flipside, you have to consider that (due to the way they're doing Hank), we'll never get a true Janet on screen, and that's a huge loss.
I wonder how fast the shrinking power will be.
What makes you say that? I don't recall anything foreclosing the possibility of a prequel.
So you guys think both him and Yellow Jacket will be able to go instantly from big to small and back again multiple times within the same fight? 'Cause that could lead to some unbelievable action scenes!
But they might not stick with that restriction on film. Might just give him both powers. What would've been better is if Ant-Man had Giant-Man's powers already. Then, like in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it wouldn't be just going from small to normal-sized, but from small to giant-sized instantly and back again.
That's why it would've been good to have a younger Hank Pym so that he could do that, because he WAS Giant Man (and Goliath) for much of his career. Scott Lang's Ant-Man never really did that trick like in A:EMH, but then, neither did Hank very much in the comics, but at least he could still grow giant-sized and shrink, which I'm not sure Lang could.

I'm not talking about simply seeing her..... I'm talking about seeing her (and Hank) alongside the modern day Avengers.
Due to the Old Hank approach, we'll never get to see that.
