I hope we actually get to see the yellow jacket costume in action during the movie and not just at the end like Iron Monger with IM.

These are some of the coolest costumes in all the mcu imo both of them am is perfection.

Does Yellow Jacket have the ability to shrink too?

In the comics, yes. Don't know about in the movie.

Thanks. Damn can you imagine though, how the Ant vs Yellow Jacket fight scene will be like if he can shrink in the movie? Them shrinking back and fourth whilst in battle would be mouth watering and visually stunning if done right.:hubba It'll end up being the most creative fight in the MCU behond Thor vs Malekith.:woot:

Definitely more creative. They can use all kinds of objects at their disposal which wouldn't normally be available and have a chase/ battle through an obstacle course of household items.

Someone made an excellent point on another board:

"The "Pym should be Ant-Man" debate is hilarious. First of all, Pym IS Ant-Man in the movie, only in flashbacks. Second of all, Pym was only Ant-Man for the first issue of Avengers before becoming Giant Man, and only even made 5 appearances in Avengers as Ant-Man after that between 1963 and 1998. He spent most of his time as Giant Man, Yellowjacket, and Goliath, and the rest of the time quitting the team or consulting sporadically. Meanwhile, Scott Lang has been nothing but Ant-Man since 1979. He wasn't even married to Jan that long. Why does anybody get riled up about Scott Lang as Ant-Man in a movie and not Barry Allen as Flash on a TV show or Hal Jordan as Green Lantern in a movie? By that rationale, it should be Jay Garrick and Alan Scott. I guess nobody's gonna angrily point out that Natasha Romanov isn't the original Black Widow, right?"

Great post! However, on the flipside, you have to consider that (due to the way they're doing Hank), we'll never get a true Janet on screen, and that's a huge loss.

I'm pretty sure that was confirmed by virtue of them saying Yellowjacket is essentially an evil version of Ant-Man.

That'd be kind of poorly thought out if he builds his own version of the Ant-Man suit and includes everything but the shrinking power.

What makes you say that? I don't recall anything foreclosing the possibility of a prequel.

I think Yellowjacket will have bio-stings like his comic counterpart.

I wonder how fast the shrinking power will be.

Pretty instant I'd imagine. Would make it very fluid in fight scenes

I think it will be like the test footage which is quite instant.

Instantaneous like it was in the test footage and is supposed to be in the comics.

One of the things Stan Lee said about why Ant-Man/Giant-Man never really took off like his other creations is because super fast size changing is hard to do justice in a 2D image.

It is supposed to be like Nightcrawler in which he changes size so fast that it works as a element of surprise in battle because you never know when he will shrink out of eye sight or grow into a giant and punch you into a wall.

So you guys think both him and Yellow Jacket will be able to go instantly from big to small and back again multiple times within the same fight? 'Cause that could lead to some unbelievable action scenes!

I think a a shrinking and growing flying fight with Yellowjacket and Ant-Man would be awesome.

And I don't think anything like that's been seen on film before.

I'm not talking about simply seeing her..... I'm talking about seeing her (and Hank) alongside the modern day Avengers.

Due to the Old Hank approach, we'll never get to see that.

What would've been better is if Ant-Man had Giant-Man's powers already. Then, like in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, it wouldn't be just going from small to normal-sized, but from small to giant-sized instantly and back again.

That's why it would've been good to have a younger Hank Pym so that he could do that, because he WAS Giant Man (and Goliath) for much of his career. Scott Lang's Ant-Man never really did that trick like in A:EMH, but then, neither did Hank very much in the comics, but at least he could still grow giant-sized and shrink, which I'm not sure Lang could.

But they might not stick with that restriction on film. Might just give him both powers.

I do think they Giant power will be some kind of deus ex machina, and could be used by Michael Douglas. I feel like that form wouldn't be very physically demanding to shoot unless he fights something just as big, which probably won't happen.

Nothing to say Pym didn't grow as well as shrink in the past or that Lang won't be able to in the movie.

^ I'm hoping for Giant Man in the Avengers. Spend much of the movie with Tony Stark making fun of him because his only power is to get smaller only to have him grow supersized instead.

OK, yeah. That's probably true. But I hope you can see my confusion since that's a little different than what you said.

If he becomes giant in other movies, would he have a different costume, and a different name?
