I saw some speculation that Jordi Mollà's Castillo may be a younger version of the Columbian Drug Lord Alejando Castillo who was killed by Deathlok in Agent's Of Shield.

The hostage situation in Bogotá, Columbia in which Nick Fury saved Pierce's daughter and the hostages from the Colombian National Liberation Army which Alexander Pierce talked about in Captain America The Winter Soldier could also tie to Alejando Castillo.

I always imagined it to be funny. The MCU has a healthy humour level. The next trailer should show that, and hopefully some personality. Maybe try and attract the regular Rudd fans by having him shrink down, slappin da bees.

Marvel has humor as compared to DC film universe which will probably have Baffleck say "I'm Batman" about like the HISHE character as their total humor alotment for 2+ hrs

Hopefully we'll hear something about a Super Bowl TV spot soon.

I always wondered if this security guard scene in Avengers was partly a little nod to Ant-Man/Giant-Man

What's really exciting about this movie is the fact it's the first MCU solo-origin movie since 2011

A fair point! Something that has kinda been overlooked. It's exciting to think about simply from that perspective, let alone everything else.

Remember that Starlog rumour from a while back? That Ant-Man would show up in Civil War and break Black Widow out of jail? Da7e of LR tweeted these a few days ago:

@TheMCUExchange @MCU_Podcast Top 5 characters who could break Black Widow out of jail in CIVIL WAR.

@TheMCUExchange @MCU_Podcast COULD be Ant-Man. But I think if Ant-Man bombs (god forbid) it could be Panther or Quicksilver or...etc

Sounds like those rumours could be true, which means we could well be seeing General Ross in this

With this and Tim Roth being asked for another movie at some point, do you think some version of the Thunderbolts will appear or were at least at some point considered to be in this?

I'd imagine a version of the Thunderbolts is something Marvel would like to build towards... They could definitely have a presence in Civil War, especially is Bruhl does end up playing Zemo.

I'd imagine if they did they'd be a kind of Masters of Evil / Thunderbolts amalgamation.

TheMCUExchange has a list of many of the MCU's villains so far, from the cannon fodder to henchmen to the main villains.

I could picture them starting out as villains pushed into service by the Pro-Reg forces, including Zemo. Ultimately, they become the uniting threat that stops the heroes from fighting each other. After the final battle, Zemo and several of the "Masters" disappear to set up a Thunderbolts team later on.

All for the better. Proving to be a waste of money for Hollywood.

yeah, spending 4 mil or whatever for a 30 second ad everyone was too drunk to really notice would be really dumb

only us nerds watch and absorb these tiny trailers, so why bother wasting the cash when we'll all rush to our computers to watch it anyways

Oh well. Looking forward to the 2nd trailer in any case whenever it shows. I think that will be the one that convinces everyone they have to book their seat on opening weekend.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm actually looking forward to this movie more than AoU.

To a degree I am as well. I've been anticipating this for years, and Ant-Man is one of my favourite heroes (yes, seriously :oldrazz:) so I'm really looking forward to it. But then I'm also hugely hyped for Age of Ultron so... Gah, I'm spoiled. :oldrazz:

I think one of the anticipations for Ant-Man , is because we just don't know what for sure we are going to get

With the Avengers , sure , it's gonna be bigger , but still , we know the characters , been then , done that

But with Ant-Man , I don't think any of us really have a clue what we're going to get

I guess they'll be keeping the actor that plays young Pym a secret.

The prelude confirms that Hank Pym was a research and development consultant for Shield

Marvel's Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso touched on Ant-Man in his Rolling Stone interview.

You have to always drill down and figure out what makes a character unique. What type of story do they exist to tell? Using Ant-Man as an example, a lot of people will say well, he's a ridiculous character. Well yeah, there's a little bit of ridiculous just in the name. But he's a really cool character who has a unique power set and an ability to do things that no one else can do. He can go into your intestinal track to mess you up if he needs to! This is a guy who understandably has a chip on his shoulder, has many flaws. We decided one of the things we wanted to lean into hard with the comic is the single father aspect of his character. The fact that he's got a daughter that he's devoted to and is given a second chance to be with. He does not attempt to squander that chance, which makes him unique from everyone else -- from Tony Stark, from David Banner, from Peter Parker. He's a single dad. He's set up to be the hero that his daughter wants him to be.

Mark Millar and Kevin Smith both said they are hyped for Ant-Man
