so thinking we see a mention of ultron or tie in to pym in either avengers or ant-man doesn't seem as far fetched anymore.

Supposedly the villain of the Ant-Man Lego set is [BLACKOUT]Hank Pym[/BLACKOUT]. Take from that what you will.

Marvel has a new Loot Crate style subscription service that is going to be 100% exclusive items for their movies! It is going to have exclusive shirts, POP! Funko figures and other goodies. The first box will celebrate Age of Ultron and the exclusive POP! figure will be the Hulkbuster they teased the other day. I made a thread about it if you want more info or to sign up:

http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=493093

If you sign up now you will be considered a founding member and as long as you don't lapse in the service you will get an anniversary trophy every year you are member!

The next box will be Ant-Man!

I hope that is false. People are annoyed enough with many of these changes,
making a founding Avenger a evil villain and doing another villain twist again will cause another fan clusterf***.

Corey Stoll is a good actor so why don't Marvel just concentrate on making him a good solid well developed villain which is something Marvel is criticised for not doing enough of in their movies

I can't handle another few years of people complaining about how Marvel "ruined" a good character.

Toyark

Black version of Ant-Man suit apparently...

The only way I accept that travesty is if in the end he's shown to be a Skrull.

I'm pretty sure this has been rumoured for years, even when Wright was on board.

Ehh, I'll be okay with it as long as he's shown to redeem himself. He did have his whole villainous-ish phase after he was Ant-Man, when he was Yellowjacket, so it could work. Execution will be the deciding factor for me.

Could always be that for whatever reason they held back showing the Yellowjacket minifigure - for whatever reason - and we see both Hank and Lang team up, but that seems more unlikely.

It sounds a little iffy. There are too many things that don't add up with everything we have be told about the movie.

Marvel might lie to cover some things like with Iron Man 3 but to lie about the movie this much would be a big gamble.

Are we sure this person isn't just confused and the villain was Castillo or Martin Donovan or Michael Pena's character or someone else?

Michael Douglas said he won't be suiting up. Douglas may of been lying I suppose but we also saw in the leaked set photos that showed Hank Pym with what looks like a bloody bullet hole in his chest. Pym was being propped up by Hope.
If Hank is evil I don't know why Hope would be helping him seeing as she doesn't get along with him.

The toyfair description doesn't say that Pym is the villain

It also worth remembering Lego isn't always accurate.

If people in Shield know about Pym Particles then I guess Hydra does as well seeing as they had infiltrated Shield.

I wonder if this will be addressed in the films.

That would open up a serious can of worms. There's already enough going on. :p

I wouldn't be too worried, as multiple sources have indicated that Yellowjacket is the only villain in the movie since that report. Honestly I'm expecting the person who saw the set either misinterpreted it, or Lego held back some stuff. Maybe both Lang and Pym take on Cross?

I don't think Pym takes on Cross but I do think he is at the scenes of the final battle at Pym Technolgies

I think the scene of everyone fleeing Pym Technologies in the trailer and Pym being carried out injured by Hope in the set pics is the final battle of the movie

I think that'll be the initial heist gone wrong, although it could be... If imagine well get more tha the one big sequence with Lang in the suit

I think Lang running from the roof and jumping on a flying Ant to escape may be a heist gone wrong. Perhaps the test run from the comic con package.

Lang being chased by the cops after stealing Pym's suit could be another action sequence with him surrendering at the end as we saw potentially in the trailer.

yeah, spending 4 mil or whatever for a 30 second ad everyone was too drunk to really notice would be really dumb

only us nerds watch and absorb these tiny trailers, so why bother wasting the cash when we'll all rush to our computers to watch it anyways

Or 4 mil on an ad that anyone with an Internet connection will have already seen 3 or 4 days before (most of the ad's are available).

Only the enthusiasts (aka nerds) go and watch it on their computers. The rest of the population will probably only see it at an event like that or in the cinema before a different film they see. TV spots will have to do for them.

Lots of cheaper options to promote films than Superbowl Ads. Billboards, TV Spots, Merchandising, Tie ins, Sponsorship, ect.

There's a guy on Reddit who has been leaking stuff. Take it all with a grain of salt obviously, but she said the following about Ant-Man:

This is paraphrased by the way; Hank Pym is the villain, but is misunderstood / sympathetic - 'tragic hero who lost his way'. Janet is dead, her death causes him to lose his way.

Originally, in Edgar's script, 'Hank Pym was going to be a more despicable villain' - Marvel wanted this changed, Edgar refused, they parted ways.

Should be worth noting ElMayimbe didn't dismiss any of this when he mentioned it on Twitter, although o know that means nothing to many around here

And more potentially major spoilers

Flashbacks would reveal that Hank and Janet worked as a duo. During a small mission, Janet is killed. This devastates Hank.

He devotes himself and his company to protecting people. Think like Tony in IM1. Problem is, he becomes paranoid, over protective. The board and Cross decide that Pym is out of control, and that he's abusing the company's resources. they out him as president.

Hank then hires Scott to steal from Cross, which he has a plan which would put him back in control of his company. During third act Pym reveals that he has a plan to control heroes. He doesn't want anybody to get hurt like Janet did. Hope and Scott see how deranged this is.

By end of movie, Cross is outed and Pym is back. He starts the hard path towards Civil War by setting up the Registration act with Tony who he sees as a tool to accomplish his goals.

Again, not a true 'villain' more of a misunderstood good guy.

Ties into the Starlog rumour we heard about before too... Hmm
