I don't think he's a villain in that set. Look at his friendly smile. lol

You know what surprises me? I haven't seen a single GIF of the scene in Wanderlust where Paul Rudd sits with a human-sized fly in this thread yet.

I have not seen one.

A possible tiny clue in The Avengers: When Nick Fury was talking to the WSC at the beginning, Powers Boothes character says "But The Avengers Initiative was shut down...". How could it be shutdown before they even gathered the new group?

To me that implies that there was a previous Avengers Initiative. Cap & Co would be the second attempt. So who would be the originals? Hank and Janet perhaps?

AND

In an interview Evangeline states that Hope was raised by two super heroes. Howard Stark and Peggy Carter appearing in Ant Man too? Im betting that The Avengers was created in the 60s by those guys. Hank quit when Janet died during a mission. The Avengers was scrapped. It all comes together perfectly all these years after Iron Man. :)

I'm really hoping that is the case. That'd be really cool if Hank and Janet started the first Avengers like in the comics and had a full-fledged team until
Janet was killed on a mission or something that lead to the demise of the Avengers team.

As cool ass that would be, if I am remembering my MCU history correctly [I've been doing my research], then it was shut down by the Council recently between IM2 and TA, because they didn't have faith in it. The Initiative was "Phase I" like the Tesseract weapons were Phase II

The trailer garnered a decent reaction at the theater this weekend from what I saw. The last line got the most laughs.

Whats funny is that Ant Man has potential to be one of the coolest heroes in the MCU. the whole mixture of supercool shrinking FX with a sense of humor is GOLD.

Ant-Man any farm!

Merchandise for this film is going to be weird :)

Ants sold separately

Silly but they almost HAD to do this. It would have been a real missed opportunity.

Indiana Jones and The Crystal skull released remote controlled ant toy merchandise

Ant-Man ant farm = perfect tie in!! Kids will love it and want to be Hank Pym when they grow up

If there's one thing Marvel is good at, it's marketing. They have a good sense of their brand and how its perceived.

Damn I wish DC was this on point.

It looks like ALL the official merchandising has an exposed mouth. Maybe the piece retracts, and we just haven't seen that yet?

Man, I hope so.

I like the Ant-Man suit, but something about it just felt a little off. I couldn't put my finger on it until now, but it's DEFINITELY the full face mask.

I don't hate it, and it certainly works for the logic of shrinking (need a concentrated air supply when that small), but that suit looks so much more "super-hero" and way closer to the comic outfit with the face open like that!

An ant-man ant-farm? Hahaha. That is awesome.

Agreed, I pray this will be the sleeper hit of 2015.

Cooler then Rocket, Star-Lord and RDJ's Tony? No, just no. That being said, I am totally digging the the merch.

probably not overall but...if he's used in a similar comedic fashion like xmen did with quicksilver, he could be a scene stealer in a future avengers movie.

I came here to post this same thing - glad someone beat me to it. I'm hoping that the face piece retracts while Scott is normal sized and activates when he's in micro-mode. Would explain difference in how a human breathes at the smaller size, and maybe has something to do with Ant communication. I guess it would be beneficial even if Scott encountered a puddle while micronizes - it'd be like jumping into a lake...

That might also explain Hank's apparent dislike for superheroes that's been rumored in regards to the plot.

Maybe, but you never know how these things turn out. I remember everybody going "ROCKET ROCKET ROCKEEEEEET!!!!" before the movie came out, but now it seems like Groot turned out to be the character for GotG.
