I suppose they could get him if they wanted to do a 60s era Ant-Man prequel about Hank Pym. Only thing is that I'm not sure how good an actor Dax Griffin is. And he's actually in his early to mid 40s now, so I don't know if that would be young enough. I've only ever seen Griffin in Sunset Beach. A daytime soap is hardly a measure of how good or bad an actor is though. Kelly Hu used to be in that in the early episodes.

However, I don't know if he could carry a whole cinematic movie himself. He might be okay for a TV version of young Pym, or just as a stand in. Michael Douglas has such a distinctive voice too that it would be weird to hear another actor playing the younger version of him unless Douglas overdubs him.

Hopefully better than the Chris Reeve/Jeff East dub.

Minuscule is nothing to be scared of.

I would love a Hank-Pym prequel of some kind but I'm not sure that's in the cards any time soon.

Going to see this in 4 hours. Not that I haven't already seen the whole movie in the threads here, but I'll try not to let that ruin it for me.

It would be a way to have a different kind of movie though. X-Men have had X-Men: First Class, DOFP and now Apocalypse. First Class had a cool 60s vibe.

Having a Hank Pym prequel would not be a reboot of any sort, but just a little divergence or change of pace, but would still be set within the MCU. It would just be like in TV series where you occasionally get an episode set chronologically before the main TV series. Or it could even be seen like Agent Carter. That is not a reboot at all.

I would like lots of MCU prequels, to be honest. Some set in the 60s and some during WWII which would allow for further adventures of Cap in that era along with the Invaders.

I agree, I've just recently began watching Agents Carter (I haven't had time to watch it yet) and it's great. I think a Marvel movie taking place in the 60's is a great premise, and it worked very well for First Class. So seeing them do something similar with Hank Pym would certainly be interesting. But I would be surprised if we saw this any time soon.

Captain America wasnt around from the 40s to the mid 2000s. They couldnt do any prequels with any film MCU characters except Ant Man because he was the only hero before Iron Man etc.

Of course they can do prequels with Cap, because it would be set during WWII. We only saw a montage of some of his adventures, but it barely touched on that. These films could simply detail the missing years.

Those battles were against second rate Hydra goons as he was trying to get to the Red Skull. Not sure they'd make for good movie.

Tried to get a bunch of people to go see Ant-Man with me last night. Failed.

Tried to get a bunch of people to go see Ant-Man with me today. Failed.

I'll just go on my own then.

:csad:

Yeah I couldn't get anyone to go see it with me either.

Finally my theater is showing the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teasers. I never saw the first teaser in theaters. But I got Teaser 2 with Tomorrowland & Ant-Man today. I sadly did get the new FFINO trailer. But the Star Wars teasers kicked the FFINO trailers ass on the big screen & on that note I liked it. It was different & enjoyed it & they are really starting to do damn good jobs on the cgi de-aging. I wonder how long it will be before we get a movie where the main character is a completely CGI human in a live action movie
Glad you're optimistic about it. It caused me to roll my eyes before the movie. I'm not particularly impressed with Disney's handling of the saga so far.

Dark Raven: They wont ever do prequels with Cap, I think Agent Carter is as close to that kinda thing as we'll get in the MCU.

Why not? I wouldn't be a fan of it but I can see how it could work.

Because this movie just drew Marvel's second lowest opening weekend ever.

What does that have to do with it? This movie isn't a prequel and doesn't really have Captain America. To the extent that it has flashbacks, so does The Winter Soldier. More importantly, nothing the trailers or commercials promoted that aspect so you would have to go to the theater and watch it for it to even be a consideration.

I think they also said Civil War is the end of Captain Americas own story. They might not even do anymore standalones after that one.

It would be great if we see a flashback of younger Hank on a mission as Ant-Man and he come across a younger version of Harry Dean Stanton's character :)

All I have to say is WOW!
Took my kids and my Niece to see Ant-Man and EVERYONE loved it!
My ONLY issue was there wasn't more of Hank and Janet as Ant-man and Wasp. I REALLY hope they do more of them.
