This is the only batman movie I hate. I thought the movie was boring and that pegon was gross. I never cared to much before batman begins for batman movies. The dark knight trilgy is like 100000 times better then the other batman movies and it is hard for me to go back and watch the other batman movies now but I do like batman, batman forever and batman and robin a little bit but hate batman returns.

It's your opinion but worse than Batman and Robin. Reallyyyyy?

It's hard to find a genre movie that is worse than B&R. Those that are tend to be cheap and nasty, and thus have some sort of an excuse.

I feel certain that B&R is one of the worst movies per $ spent of all time.

Well atleast Batman and Robin was self-aware.

It's a terrible movie but it's my (very) guilty pleasure.

One of the worst for sure, but I think Catwoman gives B&R a run for its money as THE worst big-budget comic book film. At least B&R can give me some laughs. Catwoman was just ... The worst.

And it's pretty strange and sad how Catwoman was kind of a sequel to Batman Returns ... Yikes.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

Catwoman makes want to vomit, eat my vomit, then vomit again :barf:

It's a shame, as Halle could have been wonderful in the role. She still could be, were it not for the combination of actress and role being poisoned now.

It is? I've only seen a couple of minutes of it. Literally, like two minutes. I'd never heard it had connections to BR?

I watched part of it just to see if they had the stones to call her "Selina Kyle." After about 10-15 minutes, I gave up after finding no answer.

Batman Returns (1992)

In the scene where Patience looks at the pictures of different Catwomen through time, we see a glimpse of the Catwoman from Batman Returns.

Nah, fortunately, they called her "Patience Phillips", which I'm sure aids those who wish to call it CINO (which is everyone, I hope). Still, she is called Catwoman, in the end :csad:

I can understand why someone might hate Returns. If you're not down for Burton's style (and I grow less appreciative of it as time goes on) or the deviations it makes from the source material I don't think you could find a whole lot to enjoy about it. I think its a flawed but fascinatingly strange and brazen movie. The fact that it was a summer blockbuster marketed just like any other is crazy to me.

I've still never seen it.

Nah there's no connection to Batman Returns. Different names, different stories. And yes.... I've seen the whole movie. :csad:

It was Burton's style coupled with the dark satire that really did it for me. I think this is far and beyond Burton's darkest film. It really is an arthouse blockbuster.

Stu posted some informative links about the connections to Batman Returns.

Basically, though, the movie "explains" the cat powers that Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman got in Batman Returns, and the movie references BR's Selina Kyle as being the first Catwoman.

There is no link between Batman Returns and the Catwoman movie beyond the photograph of Michelle Pfeiffer (in a brief blink and you'll miss it scene) and the name "catwoman".

The Catwoman movie released in 2004 has no connection to the Batman franchise in any way, other than what I already mentioned.

Except that there IS a connection; that the two films take place in the same universe.

There's a part in the movie where they show a photograph of Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman while Halle Berry's Catwoman is discovering where her powers came from. Sure, it's just a history lesson, but BR's Catwoman is being very clearly referenced, and it's pretty clear to me that the 2004 Catwoman movie drew inspiration from BR when concerning Catwoman's powers.

I've still never seen it.

Ditto. I've seen about 10 minutes of it and it looked like a bad music video. That was enough for me.

Also I had NO idea that it apparently takes place in the Burton-verse (technically), haha. I seriously never knew there was a photo of Michelle's Catwoman in there.

That's what it was...the whole movie was a bad music video.

Unfortunately, I saw the Catwoman movie in theaters with a girl at the time. I've never been the same since.

Has anybody been keeping tabs on the Batman Returns figures from the DC Multiverse line? Catwoman is next wave, I believe, but Penguin has been making the rounds online at some outrageous asking prices. I have yet to see him in a store, though I've been checking regularly, but it seems people are finding him somewhere. (Got the '89 Batman at Target.) I'd just hate to miss out, since these figures actually look really good, and BR is, to this day, my favorite movie of all time.

^Heh, have you seen the B89 figure with the Keaton head? It looks really bad. :hehe:

Not in person but it does look awful in pictures, lol. As far as just the regular masked version though, I was pretty impressed with the sculpt considering its small size.
