Who's writing that new take on the Scarecrow in the New 52?

Peter J. Tomasi wrote this one;

I don't know if he's done all his New 52 stories.

Well, yes. Is it really necessary to state that an evidently subjective view is a matter of opinion?

Is "in your opinion" really a credible retort outside the school playground?

You're preaching to the choir. Nobody should have to keep stating they are speaking on their own behalf, but once in a while someone will jump on you for saying your opinions in a factual/confident manner.

But I wasn't doing that to you, reg. I was asking what exactly you considered a mistake.

Just that I prefer a costume designed for effect to look like one. That said, Cillian was brilliant.

Well the Batman comics of course. They are all from the latest New 52 ones.

I tire of the "that's just your opinion" responses of these boards, to be honest. I know there's the odd person out there who will assert that their opinion is irrevocable fact (usually trolls) but most people shouldn't have to tack an IMO on the end of their posts.

IMO.

My God!! THIS is Catwoman to me... say what you want about characterization, but on a purely visual level, this is it.

I would have to agree 100 percent. Wow. Where is that from? Seriously, my mind is drawing a blank.

Penguin can easily be the "big bad", but in general (nowadays at least) he is an opportunist rather than an architect of circumstances like The Riddler or The Joker. You see it where he becomes the virtual monarch of Gotham during No Man's Land. In that regard, the circumstances for him to thrive probably have to be built around him, in order for him to break out of comfort zone in the Iceberg Lounge.

He could easily have replaced both Talia and Bane, if the whole League of Shadows thing had been written out of TDKR.
They could have had Cobblepot instead of Daggett and no Talia. If there was no League of Shadows. That could have been an interesting combo. Comic book Penguin, Bane and Catwoman. I think Penguin is a good polar opposite to Bane in many ways. They could have played on that visually with camera angles from above showing how short he is, like how they tilt the camera to make Bane seem taller.

For Begins, i dont think he should have replaced Scarecrow since i liked that version of Crane just fine. But maybe replacing Carmine Falcone.

I think if Cobblepot could've replaced anyone in Begins it would be Falcone. Bruce could've entered the Iceberg Lounge to have that face to face moment with him.
I didnt see this until after i responded to regwec. This is exactly it. Wilkinson didnt even seem like a Carmine to me anyway. Carmine feels a lot like Vito Corleone in the comics, with the family too. Wilkinson could have been Oswald honestly. Give him a few additions as references and you're set. A monocle rested on his desk when he's talking to Crane. An umbrella or top hat before he enters his car, something like that.

^ Nolan was NEVER going to do the Penguin, and he went on record stating this, and if you make the character just a crime boss, he loses everything that is INTERESTING about him and he becomes just another generic crime boss character.

This is the only batman movie I hate. I thought the movie was boring and that pegon was gross. I never cared to much before batman begins for batman movies. The dark knight trilgy is like 100000 times better then the other batman movies and it is hard for me to go back and watch the other batman movies now but I do like batman, batman forever and batman and robin a little bit but hate batman returns.

I recall Goyer saying in 2008 that they weren't going to do Penguin and Catwoman.

Nah, I don't think it's Jett, but it does sound like him.

Anyways, Dat Batman Returns! :hubba

I love this movie more and more as I get older. I loved it as a kid, but there is something "else" about it that keeps me coming back to it again and again.

if not for Batman Begins, this would be my favorite Batman movie ever. Even then, I'd say both are tied as my favorite more than anything.

Is it a perfect representation of the character? No. None of the films are. But it's the one that vibes with my preferred version of the character the most. That's whats glorious about Batman, and 99% of comic book characters in general, is that there really is no one true version that should be toted as the definitive take. If only some fans can understand that. preferring one over the other is one thing, to say "this is the REAL or NOT REAL So and So" is something else entirely.
