I'd like to see Matches Malone in a Batman movie at some point. Nolan kind of did it incredibly briefly in Begins when Bruce spies on a few people wearing street clothes before he officially comes back as Bruce Wayne.

I enjoyed both parts. It was very exciting as a kid to see Batgirl finally on there. And I always adored Walker's "daring" Batgirl theme.

Love Shadow Of The Bat episode, one of the best. I love Babs as Batgirl in this show.

Hey folks, quick question for you! Where is the highest quality BTAS set you can find? Is there a dvd set in hd? Trying to find something for Christmas!

THANK YOU! I just placed the order, so definitely the best quality you can find? And it'll look good on a 60" tv? If so, I'm not leaving the house in quite some time hahaha

It's probably the only quality you can find at the moment. lol

Damn, it looks like they went up in price. I got all of mine around 2007 from Amazon for $10-$15 per season.

There's a part of me wondering if BTAS/TNBA never ended...we would've seen the Huntress, Cassandra Cain, Betty Kane, Stephanie Brown, Damian and a bunch of villains like Hush and Black Mask.

Black Mask is older than the show. Interesting how those characters would have gotten a 20 minute episode. Hush's introduction was pretty long so here there would have been a short plot.

I'm too tired to articulate my thoughts right now

To be honest I don't really see WB shelling out to transfer these to HD unfortunately.

It's a cartoon show from the early 1990s. It wasn't even made in anything close to HD. Real HD is just not possible.

Different thing with Mask of the Phantasm.

Trivia
  • As in "Feat of Clay", Clayface targets Wayne Enterprises during his criminal activities, this time by robbing Wayne Biomedical. He previously attempted to help Roland Daggett acquire it through insider trading.
  • Clayface refuses Batman's help to become normal again, yet by stealing the Mp40 canister from Wayne Biomedical, he unknowingly accepts it.
  • The episode also contains several references to the moviemaking industry, given Clayface's background as an actor:
    • Stella's surname, Bates, and past occupation is a homage to Norman Bates, the psychotic motel owner played by Anthony Perkins in Psycho. Batman mentions she once owned a motel in the past, akin to the Bates Motel, although Clayface is presented here as the psychopath and not Stella.
    • When he is placed in the support suit that gives him structure, Clayface looks similar to an Oscar statuette.
    • Towards the end, Clayface yells "STELLA!" a la Marlon Brando's Stanley Kowalski in the 1951 film A Streetcar Named Desire.
    • The movie Stella watches, which Alfred later identifies as 'Dark Interlude' has a plot that is very similar to that of the 1939 film 'Dark Victory', starring Betty Davis
  • After Clayface dissolves in the ocean, a brief outline of his remains rises to the surface, and it seems to have stopped raining. However, in the next shot, it hasn't stopped yet.
  • According to Bruce Timm, the reason they did not use Clayface much is because he was too expensive to animate, as well as too difficult to come up with a good story for.
  • Eric Radomski came up with the idea due to the fans demanding another Clayface episode, after the success of "Feat of Clay".

Such a brilliant episode.

Walker's Clayface theme breaks my heart at the end.

Holy #### this was such an emotional episode. It actually made me hate Batman for once, LOL.

Trivia
  • Hatter's quote is from Lewis Caroll's poem "Jabberwocky", featured in Through the Looking-Glass.
  • Regarding historical accuracy, a guillotine is traditionally meant to be used with the condemned person facing down.
  • During the scene where Bruce casually collects then discards his briefcase with 20-million dollars, Bruce greets his secretary with "Good morning", even seeing birds fly by his front room window. However, the dark, black-blue skyline of Gotham suggests either nighttime or very early morning.
  • Hayden Sloan's name is spelled "Sloan" in the episode, but "Sloane" in the credits.
  • The animation goes slower in motion for a moment when the Hatter is explaining his retirement plans to Batman.
