That lack of the Nolan Batman was rather funny.
- The heat-resistant suit worn by Batman looks to be a mix of the Batman Beyond suit and the Bat-Armor he developed, shown in Batman Beyond's "Disappearing Inque".
- Batgirl makes reference to the WB television show Pinky and the Brain when talking to Bruce on the phone.
- Frank's "Fan mail from some flounder?" is a quote from the classic 1960s animated series "Rocky and Bullwinkle".
- Two of the names that Cassidy's agent suggests for her new tour are "Heatwave" and "Firestorm", two fire-based DC characters.
- The smoke gun Batman uses at one point is similar to Mr. Freeze's cold gun he used in the original series.
- The episode's title is a pun on the proverb "Love is a crutch".
- Laraine Newman replaces Alison LaPlaca as the voice of Baby-Doll.
- Brooks Gardner replaces Aron Kincaid as the voice of Killer Croc.
- When Croc shows the Daily Planet article, a smaller headline on the page says, "Supermans hands are full". An apostrophe is missing. Another says, "when will it end" without a question mark.
- Jeff Glen Bennett's name is spelled with three f's in the credits.
- A poster of Killer Croc in the sewer hideout has "Killer Crock" in one scene and "Killer Croc" in another.
- Killer Croc is sentenced to Stonegate Penitentiary, but Baby-Doll meets with him in Arkham Asylum.
- When Baby-Doll's bouncing ball explodes, for one frame there is a flash of light that is reused footage from the gas canisters that Superman ignites in the Superman: The Animated Series episode "The Way of All Flesh".
- Likewise, when the bomb in Baby-Doll's lair blows up the ensuing explosion is reused footage from "My Girl" when Mr. Eelan blows a vat of hot led off its support. Right after that, there's another explosion that is reused footage from the scene of "World's Finest, Part III" in which two Wayne/Lex T-7 droids blow up after Batman electrocutes them.
- One of the stuffed animals on Mary Louise-Dahl's couch is Yogi Bear.
I guess will get a animated short featuring BTAS right?
- During one of the tunnel chase scenes, Batman crashes through a truck labelled "Farmer Brown", foreshadowing his appearance in "Critters".
- This episode has the most sexual references of any episode in the DCAU, mostly coming from Roxy Rocket.
- Batgirl would reuse her "sources" in the search for Robin in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.
- In the commentary, Dan Riba and Paul Dini mention that although fans hated this episode they liked it.
- This is one of the few episodes in which Batman is shown willing to kill.
- During the rampage of Farmer Brown's animals on Gotham, the bull that Batgirl and Robin were fighting crashes into a china shop, and wrecks it. This is a sight gag of the common idiom "a bull in a china shop".
- Robin calls the same bull "Ferdinand." This, and the bull's design are references to Ferdinand the Bull from the children's story, "The Story of Ferdinand".
- One of the bugs slashes its arms at Batman, but ends up hitting the truck of Pest Away. In the next shot, the now ripped off arms are no longer visible.
- In one scene Batgirl is shown to bind the hind legs of a giant cow using bolas. However, in the next scene both the cow's front and hind legs are shown to be bound.
- It seems strange that after Bullock is knocked into the water, fully clothed, he's able to swim fast enough to catch up with a powered boat.
- When Farmer Brown's missile blows up, the resulting explosion is reused footage from the scene of the Superman: The Animated Series episode "World's Finest, Part III" in which two Wayne/Lex T-7 droids blow up after Batman electrocutes them.
