Highmore needs to grow up a little before I can seriously consider him for Jimmy.

Thing is, he's almost 19.

I'd say Jimmy needs to be a teenage intern at the Planet in this, given how young Cavill is and how young Clark/Superman is.

It would be bizarre to have Mr Kent and his sidekick Jimmy being too close in age.

It would feel like CW's Smallville and the fake Jimmy.

I've always felt Jimmy is to Clark/Superman, what Robin is to Batman, as far as dynamics between characters go.......sidekicks

I don't think so.

He, at least, looks like a teenager nowadays, which is how old Jimmy needs to be if he's calling Cavill "Sir" or "Mr. Kent"

Routh and Sam Huntington are close in age and they worked out fine, but I do think Highmore is a fine choice.

I want Dustin Milligan as Jimmy Olson

SR's a different case. Huntington's Jimmy was meant to be older.

He was supposed to be a mid-20s Jimmy who is down on work since Superman disappeared 5 years prior.

As far as Routh's age, a common complaint was that he was too young to play an older version of Reeve's Superman.

I'm still ridiculously pro-Yelchin.

Huntingoton was probably the best thing that came out of Superman Returns.

I do want, however, an updated version of Jimmy. Give him a modern look and ditch the bowtie.

:wow: But bow ties are awesome!

I've never thought of Jimmy as a kid necessarily, just that he is perpetually youthful. My Dentist is the same way, you'd never know he was 30-something because he looks 18. Jimmy Olsen to me is Superman's Kitty Pryde. Not a boy, but not quite a man either.

I was always for an updated Jimmy away from that bowtie and completely fauning over Clark/Superman. I'm not saying that he can't admire/look up to Clark/Superman but don't make it as creepy as the 1950's comics because that stuff just doesn't fly now or days. Make him look up to Superman but make him has own man too, his own man who wears modern clothes.

Funny thing is, bow-ties are very fashionable currently.

I wouldn't mind a bow-tie on Jimmy, but only for about a scene or something. A little cameo appearance, like a little in-joke.

I'm pushing for Thomas Sangster of Love Actually and Nowhere Boy. He's a fellow brit like Cavill and looks like he stepped off of the pages of a comic. He's also about 21 but can pass for alot younger.

Yeah, he might fit as Jimmy. Plus he's already in upcoming comic-book movie. :awesome:

He's 21!? My god, if he walked into my bar, i'd refuse to serve him, even if he had ID on him. Even in nowhere boy I thought he looked madly young.

Sangster is another great choice.

I could buy him as a young sidekick who looks up to Cavill..aka "Mr Kent"

Cavill Superman
Lois: Kunis or McAdams
Jimmy: Yelchin
Perry: Bruce Greenwood
Ma: Diane Lane
Pa: Kevin Costner
Zod: Viggo
Lex: Joaquin Phoenix or Daniel Craig
Lana: Kate Mara
Ursa: Olivia Wilde
Non: Robert Maillet
Brainiac: Some dudes voice

The fact that he has "beat me up now" stamped all over him is a bit distracting, though.

I don't get that from Freddie at all. He was Great in Finding Neverland and August Rush, and he looks the right age.

Anyone have a youtube clip of this Dudes Voice guy? I've never seen his work. :woot:
