The Official Casting The Superman Reboot Thread - Part 2

Someone awhile ago mentioned Billy Bob Thornton as Perry. At the time it didnt really appeal to me, but as time went on I started to think he'd be a really good fit for the part.

As per my earlier post in this thread:

Bruce Campbell for Perry FTW.

Just going to reiterate my choices...

Corey Stoll for Lex Luthor
Paul Bettany for
Brainiac
Beau Bridges for Perry White
Haley Joel Osment for Jimmy Olsen

Kate Mara for Lana Lang

Jesse Eisenberg for Jimmy Olsen
Zachary Quinto for Brainiac
Jon Hamm for Perry White
Kate Mara for Lana Lang
Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Lex Luthor

I called De Niro WAAAAAAY back in 2009, and Zack Synder poster dude cant say it was his idea cause he joined in 2010, so :p

Haha, I understand. I would get seriously peeved if someone started suggesting JDM. He's MY unlikely dream actor! MINE! :p

I had a dream last night that Craig T. Nelson had been cast as Perry White...woke up thinking it was real.....

I had a dream I was eating a giant marshmellow and when I woke up... My pillow was gone.

I had the same thing..only it was a twinkie I was eating and it wasnt my pillow that was gone.......

Let's have it.
There have been studies and such. Kate Mara has only ever been cast in movies & television programs because she's cute and has a hot body. One report shows that she paved the way for "actresses" such as Kristen Stewart on account of the fact that so many people believe that "reciting dialogue" is "acting."

Normally without sources assumptions like that are unfounded. This one is too.

She's been in a few good movies including 127 Hours and Transsiberian and has carried out a commendable job so I don't see how such an inference can be made.

It's not my fault you're a bad judge of talent.

That is a matter of opinion. I don't believe she's an Oscar winner. But you don't need one to play Lana Lang as her role wouldn't be as large or torturous as it was in Smallville.

Here we agree: you dont need an Oscar-caliber actress to play Lana. But, I'd prefer someone who has more talent & likeability than drywall.

Fair enough. Our opinions disagree.

I'm on board with your Eisenberg suggestion, however.

To be honest I can't think of anyone else for Lana.

The only other reasonably skilled actress I can think of with the likeability factor in tact is Alice Eve, but she's a blonde and my ideal choice for Sue Storm, so yeah.

Deborah Ann Woll for Lana.

Discussion over. :o
