I'm not really arguing legs right now, I'm arguing opening weekend. Hulk wasn't huge because of legs, not because of the 60mil opening weekend. Although I did and still do view that number as a disappointment.

Yeah did anyone ever care about 'The Black Freighter?' I thought it just detracted from the story, and not sure what it had to do with the Watchmen. I don't know, maybe I'm dense. But thank god they cut that from the movie, it's boring enough as it is with the slowing of that side story. And who is going to get that DVD? Please don't fanboys. They are really taking us for suckers. All they are doing is trying to suck money from us. Don't fall for it. haha. Watchmen is going to be much like HULK I agree, big jump off but then drop like a lead sinker. Watchmen is not an action movie, and I don't think a lot of people are going to movies nowadays looking for moral and ethical debates of human existence and time and space from a naked blue man.
From reading an advanced review a good comparison would be comparing the movie to the chick who plays Silk Specter II. Fun to look at but ultimately hollow. The movie does look visually good but in no way truly captures the characters motivations or personalities. Which I never expected that it would, theres no way a film could ever live up to the book which is exactly why im not seeing the movie when i can just reach over and open the book.
I disagree entirely. A lot of people have this opinion because they like to look intelligent. But everything I've seen implies that Snyder gets it. Yes, it looks cool, but that doesn't mean its bad, unless you consider yourself to be 'above' that. From reading an advanced review a good comparison would be comparing the movie to the chick who plays Silk Specter II. Yeah, but thats not why I feel Snyder gets it. From the interviews I've read, the clips I have seen and the information in the official film companion I can see that Snyder understands the material.Theres a difference between making the scenes in the movie appear as close as they can to the scenes in the comics, and actually understanding the characters.

Maybe you are
Have you read any of the other reviews? Or have you actually seen the movie?
I even had greater doubts when it was reported Snyder was trying to get the directors cut released into theaters. Almost like they were saying the theatrical cut didnt really get the job done. It ticks me off that studio execs. will release a poorer version into theatres but then just go "oh thats ok the true film will be released on dvd". Well we shouldnt have to wait, even though im not even sure how much the directors cut will even add to the film.
So, you're changing the subject. Got it![]()
Nope not at all the fact that he wants the directors cut released kind of backs my opinion that the theatrical cut does not include everything they wanted it to which gets back to the point the theatrical cut lacks in ceratin areas. Dont get upset at me just because you decided to become an uber fan of a movie you havent seen yet. Not everyone is going to be excited about it just because it has Watchmen slapped on it.
Um...Of course it's not gonna have everything they shot for it. It's a major studio movie, and they want to get the leanest cut out first. To make money, you know? It will lack stuff like the Black Freighter, and the Hollis Mason death. That will hardly make the movie "lacking." And I'm not upset. I asked you a question and you went with something else. Oh, and you haven't seen it either, so...
