Yes, I left Burton out of this.

I was tempted to list JJ, but he was never really a rumored candidate. Everything with him was in regards to just writing it.

After his recent success I wouldn't be surprised if WB approaches him to write (at least in part), and direct a Superman film.

Out of rumored choices...I chose Bay and as a bonus, Spielberg would produce as well.

This isn't a what director you'd like for Supes thread, it's a choose from the previously rumored on the poll. Some people seem to be missing the point of the OP intent in the threads creation. rant over

Anyway, the Wachowski's I don't care what anyone say Speed Racer was great and visually amazing. I think they'd nail a Supes movie out of the park

it would be interesting to see what they would throw at us visually with the wachowski's but i would not want them writing, i rather get a good writer on board.

wachowski's i think would be most apt at getting the tone right compared to the others listed. And they are legit fans of the comics no? I think they'd understand the implications of changing canon or updating things, especially if they designed metropolis as slightly futuristic. a cgi superman like keanu reeves in reloaded and revolutions flying around would suck though.

If Bay directs a Superman movie, it'd be the first Superman movie to include fart jokes. And probably some veiled racism (probably in the form of alien stereotypes)

None of the above is lame. Obviously these aren't first choices, the question is out of the rumored choices who you would settle. Otherwise none of the above would run away with it

There's also other filmmakers to include like Abrams (granted he was never "in the running," still he certainly wanted the gig back when he was writing it), Burton and even Singer again. Lame.

You just answered why I wouldn't include Abrams (he was up for writing it, not directing). Burton is not being included because any vote for him would be a comical one screwing up the poll. Nobody would vote for SuperScissorHands w/ balding Nick Cage... legitimately. Singer had his shot, so of the rumored choices (obviously who didn't get to make a film) I narrowed it to these 4. If you don't like it, make the standard who is your fav director choice. Won't offend me at all.
