The Official Choose A Director Thread

There's absolutely no one known/big that I'd even consider to be a viable candidate for Supes. Regardless of popularity or name recognition. I pray we won't have to resort to this.

I've always felt that Brendan Fraser would've been a great Superman, but he's getting too old to start a new franchise.

Underrated actor really.

I think he is 40 now, but really doesn't look older than 33-34 to me.

There's no big-name actor who fits the physical aspects required of the character. Full stop.

Plus, all of the actors you've listed are WAY older than what Warners would want for a sequel-spawning franchaise.

He looks closer to 40 to me.

Just a what if scenario dude.

See, the point is, if they went in that direction (big name)who would you go with out of possible candidates?

Ya know, one of those things you do for fun on a deserted MB?

Even with the wig in those films..

He still looks closer to 40.

His Superman time is up.

Wasnt Fraser attached to JJ Abrams superman? I remember hearing him in an interview saying he was really excited about it, personally hes a bit goofy looking for the role but he might be able to give the superman films a more dramatic feel to em.

I wouldnt mind see Josh Harnett offered the role again or maybe Ashton Kutcher. Both of them havent made any big movies in awhile, they are big names but kinda on the downward.

Ya know, Josh was never that bad of a choice to me. Ashton though... Ehhhhhh

Josh openly turned down Superman. He isn't interested in films of this genre.

Ashton is complete garbage. It's cringeworthy that he was even mentioned with anything to do with Superman or Batman.

I have a feeling we are going to get a very rushed Superman movie with some Hunk of the hour that will not satisfy our taste for a good Superman film.

I dont think they will take any risks when making this movie either
It is going to be played so safe so that it makes enough money

Jake Gyllenhaal would work for me as a big name.

I would rather have a big name play Luthor. DiCaprio as Luthor would be perfect.

Yeh i was just looking at the picture of Jake in the Prince of Persia movie and thought that he looked close enough like superman to be in a known hot actor

I really just cant wait to find out who is going to direct it..that is where the real style of the film will come from.

If established Superman....Jude Law FTW

And Hartnett is a legit actor, just watching lucky number slevin.

DiCaprio as Luthor would be perfect.

Thats what I have been saying for 2 years.

something i quickly whipped up
superthings.jpg

it isnt an interpretation of what i want the costume to look like

On second thought, I do remember that Law/Alex Ross manip. He looked good. But neck-down, Law is at least 40 pounds away from looking remotely good for the part.

I think what they will do this time round is try make Superman/Clark Kent more relatable

i think in the movies we have had so far we have just been a fly on the wall to Superman
this time round it will be from the eyes of Superman.

We will be able to relate to Clark more just like we could in Spiderman and Batman
