The Official Choose A Director Thread

I hope James isn't pulling a Millar with AICN and IESB. :=/ Ya know wanting to be involved with the film, so letting rumors fly for some buzz.

woul be strange if this came about. i am sure the brothers would do well as writers/proucers an leave someone to direct. or even direct. It will be interesting to see what comes from this rumor now.

What has he directed (JMcT?)? And thanks.

Angeloz

Most notably he was first assistant director on the Matrix movies. He also was first assistant director on Star Wars: Episode II.

As for him being the main director, just V for Vendetta afaik

oh i thought it was? i know their is a bunch of ninja themed games.

Hm, this is very interesting. I loved V for Vendetta, and Ninja Assassin looks to be a blast. Wachowski's sitting back in the producer's chair allows them some pull, but not enough to conquer the direction of the movie. Visuals and spectacle alone, this team is top-notch.

One thing I'm not very sure of is the writing. That could very well be a hit/miss.

I thought the latter might be him. Thanks.

What really interest me is: Who will write the script?

If Wachowski Brother are going to be producer, they will probably be very interested in writing the script, like they did with V for Vendetta.

DC has comic writers writing the stories that all of their movies will be based on now. I believe I heard that Grant Morrison would be the one to write a Superman film, but I'm not sure how concrete that is. After Morrison is done, then it would go to an "established screenwriter" to be turned into a script. This is DC's plan for all of their films now, and is similar to how Superman TM was done, with Puzo writing the story and the Newmans & Tom Mankewiecz writing the screenplay.

I'm believing nothing at this point. i've been burnt too many times in the past by websites running with rumors. Give me something concrete then i'll get excited.:word:

Well WB hired Morrison, Wolfman and Johns. So one of them, or maybe all three will contribute to a story outline atleast. I think right now it really comes down to WB maybe having settled on rebooting the thing.

I dont' know. IESB.NET seems to be more popular with the online journalism crowd (the industry itself) than actually being popular online in general. Once in a while, they'll have a good scoop but it's been a while. I hope that they are right with the latest rumor.

ya hopefully we g et more truth on things soon if the brothers/other guy are invovled and then if johns/wolfman/morrison are at all invovled in helping with supes. I agree if we get one of them writing a draft, then go to a good screen writer and keep all the good comic elements in place. With the broters producing could be good with the other guy directing. Hopefully things are truly moving for supes.

Creators of Matrix and V doing Supes ? ? ? best choice on the planet. make this so. PLEASE !

Robert Sanchez:

IF there is any doubt about the legitimacy of IESB claims comparitively, I think you can look at the record of Steve at Savesuperman.com who would have lost any contact he had, after day one of his site and comments alienating Superman fans.
What will people say when latinoreview, hollywood reporter, and variety confirm this info within the next week?

Indeed.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the Superman franchise, as the Wachowskis are definitely big fans, and are capable of making an entertaining film with elements of depth to it.

We'll see.

It will be so nice if we do have a solid development going after the 90s failed attempts wait and the back and forth of rumors/nothing since SR. It should be interesting to find out if wb can get something actual set and ready by the deadline they have.

I'd be supportive of the Wachowskis and James Mcteigue combo. They are obviously Superman fans and they would without a doubt bring the action that many here have been craving.

Not who I would have wished for, but I would be willing to see what they have in mind.
