That's what I believe also. If he didn't have trunks it would be better imo to reveal the whole costume, so that people have more time to become accustomed to that look. If he does in fact have trunks (what with everything else being updated classic, it just makes sense) the negative reaction towards them will be minimal at best. Snyder is just having a little fun with the fans.

If the trunks are there then it will be the greatest live action superhero costume ever designed.

I don't know about it being "The Greatest" but it will look good IMO. I'm really hoping for trunks. :woot:

Yes, because ballet dancer > circus strongman when it comes to badassery.

Or not.

Well, to be fair, most people today don't have any immediate mental association with circus strongmen when it comes to trunks outside of pants. Really, the only thing most people associate with them is Superman, and if he's depicted right, that should be more than enough in terms of badassery.

Neither please. I'll take the below and you can have the "circus strongman". LOL @ the idea that anyone would want Superman to look like a circus strong man.

Trunks or a really good way around them, but just a belt will not cut it. Some people were thinking that there might be a stripe on the leg, but a closer look shows it's just a seam. A full length body costume will look like baby pj's or a ballet dancer's unitard. Or a gymnastics uniform.

Forgot-not supposed to feed the trolls.

Your right, most just want him to look like Superman and that means for the majority of people all of the iconic classic elements should be represented including the trunks. I agree with Kurosawa, a unitard is a horrible idea, and that's what you'll get without trunks.

ummmm, wasn't Superman's costume based off of circus strongmen to begin with?

so the guy who previously commented saying it would looks stupid for him to be based on that is pretty much a big dummy

Most of the people who say stuff like that know nothing about Superman or his history, and all Siegel and Shuster are to them is two dead Jews whose families are suing WB/DC.

I'd have to agree with you on that

No, you get a unitard with underwear over it. Even more horrible.

For the look they are going for, I think briefs could work, especially if they don't look like briefs but rather a red re-enforced area of the uniform.

But regardless, it could still work without the briefs: the belt will look fine if it looks like he is wearing trousers and a tunic, sort of like Captain America. He doesn't need to wear a unitard. The pants can be of the same material as the top, but obviously a separate piece with the tunic tucked into the pants and held tight with a belt.

You do know the Superman Suit is just a leotard with underwear right?

Except it isn't:

That's actually quite clever, that Superman would develop such a difficulty. A deeply practiced behaviour that can't be easily reversed, becoming almost like a phobia.

See my previous post.
I already knew it wasn't a full unitard but my response to you is stop calling the MOS suit a unitard since you know could not be a unitard like keep saying it is like you absolutely know it is.

Why did you say it was when you knew it wasn't then?

As for the MOS suit, It's all according to how the belt looks I guess. It'd still look better with trunks.

The way the pants attach to the shirt doesnt work in live action with a tight costume like Superman`s. It is something that only works in the comics. It has to be a full unitard. Unless there's a ziper underneath the belt or something. The shirt would never stay in place without it.
