The Official DC Stupid Question Thread....

I dropped by the shop the other day and glanced at a few issues of JSA. I didn't notice the KC Superman on any of the covers, he hasn't been killed off has he?
No no no. He went back to the Kingdom Come universe some time ago.

How do Jor-El, Lara Lor Van, and other Kryptonians know english?

Ok, here's a quick one about the whole stuff happening in Green Lantern. I know that Johns and co. based some of their ideas for the Sinestro Corp War on a prophecy in a story that Alan Moore did in the '80s. I was just wondering what elements were taken from that and if the upcoming Blackest Night also takes ideas from that story
Most of it is seen in GL Corps, which makes me think that Gibbons is the one who really took that ball and ran with it.

Here is the original prophecy:
Alan Moore said:
"After untold millennia, the enemies of the Green Lantern Corps will rise united against them.

The Corps shall be destroyed to the last life form. The planet Oa shall be as dust.

Among the gathered foeman shall be numbered the Weaponers of Qward, Ranx the Sentient City, and the unspeakable Children of the White Lobe.

The Empire of Tears, finally released from entombment, shall join the assault.

Sodam Yat, a Daxamite hailed as the ultimate Green Lantern will perish battling the lobe-spawn.

The planet-form Green Lantern Mogo will be the last to fall as Ranx explodes a blink-bomb within his core…"
As you can see, it's not all coming true.

Mogo and other Lanterns fought against Ranx and the Children of the White Lobe in GLC during the Sinestro Corps War, but they actually won. No one was sacrificed.

In addition, the Empire of Tears has a lot to do with the origin of the Red Lanterns. It originally was a magic empire ruled by evil demons, but Johns seems to be discreetly paring down that element in order to make the Guardians look more like *****ebags for destroying it.

Ok, thanks. I just thought that was pretty interesting that they were taking something like that and kind of shaping it into what they've been doing in the GL/GLC series lately.

Another quick question for people, what are some essential Wonder Woman reading outside of the Perez stuff? And is her Golden Age Archive collections worth picking?

Rucka. Absolutely Rucka's run on her series. Almost everyone I know who likes WW right now liked her beginning with Rucka. TBP reading order is:

Hiketeia (Stand-alone short, not really necessary but is a good story nonetheless)
Down to Earth
Bitter Rivals
Eyes of the Gorgon
The Land of the Dead
Mission's End

JLA: Golden Perfect and JLA: League of One are both amazing Wonder Woman stories disguised as JLA stories.

After what Simon Hurt did to the Wayne name I wouldn't be surprised if he was contemplating abandoning it.

Given the fact that his identity is known to Deathstroke, Ra's, Riddler, Catwoman, the JLA and the Titans, I would have left it aside and set up a new ID if I were Bats.

If you read those 3 issues of BOP, then you know all there is to know about the character seeing as that was his first and pretty much only appearance.

I cannot find anything about the dude online. Could anyone tell me about Killer Shark? He apparently was in 3 issues of Birds of Prey.

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Birds_of_Prey_Vol_1_114

I read those issues a while back.

This Killer Shark was the grandson (I think) of the original Killer Shark. And I think the original used drugs to mind control Zinda to be his Queen (which the new Shark also did).

I haven't read the issues. I just know he appears in those 3. So no special gadgets or weapons or anything?

He filled down his teeth to points. :D

He had himself a whole evil lair. So he had some weapons. I think he had found his grandfather's lost treasure or something. I'd have to read them again.

Dont forget Jimmy Olsen must know his identity as well.

Did Jimmy Olsen figure out Clark was Superman because he has a keen eye, or was it some bull that had to do with the powers he got during Countdown?

I was talking about Jimmy knowing Batmans ID not Supermans.

And yes it came from the "Countdown" story but I dont think it had to do with the powers he got because it was before he got the powers.

I know you were talking about Batman, but it just reminded me of Jimmy knowing who Superman was during Countdown.

He probably knows who Batman is, too. He certainly knows all about Jason Todd.

I'm going to assume that after the New Gods' spirits left him, Jimmy forgot all the random info he had in his head at the time.

He also knew about Dick.

I didnt remember he knew about Clark in "Countdown".

I dropped the book early on.

Why does the Hawkman from Earth 2 have a black son named Northwind?

Because he's a man from 3000 years in the past with a belt made of alien metal.

Follow that logic.

Anyone been keeping up with the Solomon Grundy series? I read a bit of it and it actually seems kinda cool. What's the consensus from people better-versed in Grundy?
