Well that's prob all ur gonna get. Chances are they aren't continuing this series, at least not any time soon.

I know and its too bad

I never used the Exceed system with Nero. I didn't get it and I went the entire game without ever using those moves

I was shocked to see DMC2 in the story recap video you unlock. I thought it was going to go from 1 to 3 but nope Lucia's story was included there. I wonder if there were plans to ever revisit her

I was on Wiki and it says that chronologically, DMC2 is the last game in the series. Is that true? I had just assumed 4 was after 2

Yea that's what I assumed. The way that series time jumped was a bit perplexing

It's because the game sucked so bad, they put it last in line. So basically, no matter how many more games they would have made, DMC2 would have chronologically still been the last part in the Dante Saga.

The ending of DMC2 is Dante trapped behind the gate, as his father, so I will believe it's after DMC4 chronologically
They left points of interesting story to be taken, what if Nero was confirmed as Vergil's son? How Mary and Trish act toward Lucia? Will Nero take his uncle business? Etc...

I think Vergil as Nero's dad, just doesn't work, even if they intended that to be the case. Vergil would have had to be incredibly young when he fathered him.

And I really want to know how old they are in DMC4, who is the mother, how Vergil became the servant of Mundus after becoming a father, and how Nero ended up on Earth with the whatever name of that cult led by Sanctus

I never believed in the son thing. Nero was simply the unlucky one that had his arm possessed by Vergil.

They left the ending kinda opened, though. Lucia is in the DMC place, while she hears the sound of a motorcycle out there, which leads us to believe it can be Dante.

I'm still going with he's Sparda third kid. I find it odd he'd be vergils I had that at the ver least in DMc both him and Dante would be late 20's-30 I just don't seeming fathering kid before say junior high. as for that thing with Dante being in his oldman's body let's hope the goal isn't to ensure that him and his brother are born. Or that he leave his father's body before conception. shudders

All this potential for story is lost
Pity

Soooo, nobody's gotten their pre-order code yet? Vergil's Downfall is up on the PSN store but I haven't received my code dagnabbit!

Crap, I can't put down Tomb Raider haha! Can't wait to play it though.

The reviews been good on it?

I checked the store between 6 and 8 p.m last night and it still wasn't there. Why are they taking so long to update it lately?

I'll check it again once I get home. I hope it is a free download for me, since I got the game with the Samurai Pack.

I tried to get it yesterday, but Live wouldnt let me purchase it. At the price screen is said -1 and i clicked it and it just kicked me back to the DmC main page. Super odd.

I went and checked the Capcom Unity boards, apparently they're having issues with sending out the redemption codes for people who pre-ordered. PS3 users were suppose to get their codes yesterday, but now Capcom is saying they'll go out with 360 codes sometime today. I don't know about Marketplace, but the dlc went up on PSN last night for purchase.

So guess what? If you pre-ordered the game for dlc, you're screwed for now! Unless you want to pay! :wall:

Reviews for the dlc seem to be decent. I don't want to read much until I play, but here's a couple:

It should be free if you pre-ordered from GameStop. You're supposed to enter your e-mail at this site: http://www.devilmaycry.com/vergil/ for a notification, and according to what I saw on Capcom's site, you'll eventually enter the 11-digit code on your game receipt on the site and get a code for PSN/360.

I don't have Gamestop where I live, but the version I bought was promised with Vergil's DLC. After I purchased it, I got a code that gave me the Samurai Pack. From what I researched online, the Samurai Pack comes with the Vergil DLC, so I'm hopefull. I don't have an 11 digit code, though. The code for the pack is 12 digit.

They finally updated the pre-order site. http://www.devilmaycry.com/vergil/

I don't know about non-gamestop orders, but you can get the dlc by entering the 11-digit code from your receipt (not to be confused with the 12-digit code for the samurai pack) to the site and then get your PSN store/Marketplace redemption code.

But of course, they had to finally get their act together after I decided to rent Tomb Raider.:argh:

Im playing the new DmC now and just finished chapter 2 and really digging it! The combat is fun and I love how they have modernized Dante's tale. Really like this interpretation of Vergil so far.

I miss being able to hold a button to target an enemy. I really think had they kept that it would have give the combat more control. I was surprised to see them give you the other 2 weapons so early on. I thought would happen over a few chapters but I guess they wanted chapter 2 to really serve as a tutorial for all his basic abilities

Yeah, it's the most legit complaint on the gameplay. There was really no reason to ditch it and the game doesn't need 2 evade buttons. It works pretty solid, but there are instances where it targets the wrong enemy, especially while your in the air and when they throw tons of enemies at you. Besides that, the gameplay is impressive.

Tim Phillips(Dante) gives one of the finer performances of this gen IMO.

Vergil's Downfall was alright. Only two new enemies and mostly recycled backgrounds made it feel a little lazy, but overall I enjoyed playing as Vergil and like how they progressed the story. I think they claimed it would be 4-6 hours of new game play but I finished it in just over two hours on Nephilim.
