Agreed. If Capcom doesn't want, then I hope someone else takes it and asks Ninja Theory to make a sequel. I've put so many hours into this game and I want to see where the story can go.

How does that work? If Capcom doesn't want a sequel to it, that's the end of that. It's their IP. How is someone else supposed to just take it and get Ninja Theory to make a sequel?

Selling, of course. Like Ubisoft got some of THQ's. I don't care how.
I just don't want to see this stop in the first game.

Capcom is never going to sell the DMC IP. Not unless they go backrupt and are in as bad a financial mess as THQ, which they are not. Even if they never make another DMC game, you can expect to see them at least utilize the characters in other games such as MvC, or even a new IP.

If Capcom doesn't have NT make a sequel, then your best bet is that NT take the assets they used here and create a spiritual successor. May not be the same story, but they can at least use the gameplay and mechanics they developed here in a new saga

You say that like it's a normal thing for companies to just sell their IPs willy nilly. That's not going to happen unless Capcom goes bankrupt and has no other choice but to sell their IPs. I have made my peace to see nothing DMC related for a long time. No sequel to DMC4 or DmC. I think the franchise is already going the way of Mega Man.

I enjoyed the **** out of DmC. It'll suck not to see it continue.

I don't see it being as far fetched as you guys do. They spent so much to make RE6 and were hoping to get CoD numbers, which they obviously didn't. They're even affraid of outsourcing, now. They can make deals to keep these characters for fighting games while selling the biggest part of the copyright to someone else.

Yeah.... not gonna happen. They are just focusing on other IPs, like Dragon's Dogma, while they brainstorm how to rejuvenate their other Franchises.

When Capcom is done with a franchise, they just let it die. They have a TON of unused IPs. If they wanted to, they could have sold off many. (Mega Man being a notable recent example). Heck Onimusha was kind of in a similar position as DMC was last gen. Point is, they haven't and the ONLY reason why this would even be an option is if they were bleeding for money, which they are not. They aren't on the brink of bankruptcy so it would be foolish to start selling off one of their most popular franchises. That's never been how this company operates

Ha, right. Once they are done with a franchise, it simply disappears. I guess even my brainstorming comment was too optimistic.

Who has ever shown interest in getting Megaman to make more games? Not saying that there wasn't, but I don't recall news of any company wanting to take that.
I simply said that I hope someone does it. That someone sits with Capcom and discusses the possibility.

I'm not expecting Capcom to put it on auction.

I doubt capcom would sell it if someone came to ask to buy it off them. if anything they'd want to keep it to them selves even more .

And you are telling me that there's actually anyone out there clawing at the chance to make another DMC game? I doubt even Ninja Theory would be in the mood right now, after DmC turned out to be a financial bust.

Last time I saw, it sold more than 1.2 million units. Until I see that its budget was anything over 60 million, I'd hardly call that a financial bust. Just for Capcom and its absurd expectations.

I'm pretty sure those numbers are 1.2 Millions units shipped. Not sold. And for a triple AAA franchise, which sold over 4 Million units before, 1.2 Million is embarrassing.

I get it, you liked DmC a lot. But be realistic, it's over.

Oh, you still seem so resentful whenever something about this game is brought up. Along with KingMadness. Still can't shake the hate off?

Too bad if it's over. I'll just hope that it can be continued someday. Same for Megaman. It's not like I'll lose sleep over it.

and who is showing interest in DMC? Who is going to buy it? Ninja Theory? They cant afford it

It's no secret that I'm not a fan of the reboot. But I'm simply being realistic and I just say it, as I see it. Capcom rebooted it to get a bigger crowd, because they thought interest in DMC was dying down. After re-adjusting their initial sales expectations several times and still not meeting even their lowest expectations, this only sent one possible message to Capcom. No one cares about DMC anymore. Now like other successful franchises before it, DMC will fade into obscurity. With characters only popping up in 3rd party fighting games and rpgs, that are home on the 3DS handheld.

And whoever said that someone IS showing interest in DmC? Do I need to tell you what I mean by I hope?

it was a response to you posing the same exact question in regards to me mentioning Mega Man

Then what was your Mega Man comment even about?
Megaman was brought up as an unused IP, which is what DmC is going to become. Since I was talking about someone getting DmC, I questioned if someone ever showed interest in purchasing Megaman, which has been forgotten for quite some time. Like I said in that post, I'm not fully sure if someone did it.
If I'm saying that I hope someone does it, that someone gets DmC, then it's pretty obvious that no one showed interest. Then it is redundant to ask.

well that question is really hard to answer cause mega man isn't up for sale. and cause of that what you speak of can't be answered in any way.

Cause it's locked up in capcom's hands. the only interest there is that from gamers that want to hear that another game is in the works and will be coming out and capcom keeps baiting us the fans with that and possible idea's with a new game with him in it. that's pretty much all the interest there is .

here's something new on this finally

If you can spare the gigglebits on your Xbox 360, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and DMC: Devil May Cry are both available through Games on Demand on Xbox Live for $50 right now. Each will consume 7.34 GB and 6.57 GB, respectively.
That includes the DLC or not? Cause I already envy XBox gamers for that size
DmC on my PC without DLC costs 7.88 GB of the disc space :(

$50 for months old games is not a deal. Both could be found for about $40-$45 day one depending on where you preordered. Heck MGR is ~ $40 and DmC is $38 now on Amazon
