Sooo.... I guess this is a thing.

I think that one was confirmed fake. Read that on /v/ a while back. I'm pretty sure it's pretty old by now.

I see. I guess I need to exchange words with someone.

I'm not that great when it comes to judging gameplay. I'm more of a casual player, and not one of the hardcore types who plays the games on the highest difficulty settings, without ever getting hit. So I can only comment on the fun factor. And I would say Metal Gear Rising comes close or is easily on par. Game is just crazy.
I'd put Metal Gear Rising at #3 or 4 on my list. Gameplay was very good, but lacked the weapon variety, imo. God of War is another strong contender.

DmC is so blah. It is disliked for good reason. A mediocre game withe worse then mediocre gameplay, in a series built on wonderful gameplay.

What matters here is the potential turbo mode and potential return of Vergil for DMC4. :awesome:

Also just make DMC5 already. :argh:

That's a bit harsh on DmC. I think it was a good game, had a solid foundation. Had it not been attached to the Devil May Cry name, I think people would've been way more receptive to it. I think it was the start to what could've been a good series.

Having said that, it does kind of baffle me that some people put it above any of the other DMC titles (besides DMC2, obviously). That just doesn't compute to me at all. It's fine on its own, but when you compare it to those three titles, it's pretty minor league. It's like God of War to Ninja Gaiden. I mean, sure, GOW is a lot of fun and I like it, but technically speaking, it's like comparing the Sixteenth Chapel to a comic book cover by Jim Lee. It's just...not really the same league at all from a gameplay perspective.

I'll buy both of these, though.

EDIT: And I can't take anyone who ****s on DMC4 seriously, just to add. It had some real problems, but holy ****, was that gameplay so smooth and buttery.

EDIT 2: I mean, look at this:

You're welcome.

EDIT 3: This isn't directed at you, specifically, Darth. Just any filthy DMC4 hater that may be out there; I know they're sliming around out there. Bastards.

The idea of Devil May Cry 5 is appealing, but to say the DmC reboot is mediocre is kinda harsh, basic gameplay is the same, and controls are a little more fluid than the original games (haven't played 1&2, no comments on those), and the removal of the fixed camera was quite the relief.

Devil May Cry 3 is fantastic, the rest of them are complete ****
That's really harsh.
Even if the first one is overrated, it's better than $#%^.
Third one is great.
Devil May Cry 4 is my favorite (thanks to Pandora, I love that aerial weapon).
DmC is very good in gameplay, and that's the most important thing in video games.

In the end, they sacrificed too much, in order to make a more casual friendly game, that simply didn't appeal to a lot of people. They took a niche game, tried to make it appeal to everyone but the niche audience, and it backfired hard.

Those moves help add to why this is my favorite game in the franchise.

I think there's really a case for DMC4 having the best technical combat of any of the series. So smooth, so precise. I generally don't buy remasters of games often, but I'll make an exception for these. I never actually owned DmC anyway, just borrowed it from a friend. And I haven't revisited DMC4 in a long time. Between these remasters, Bayonetta 2, Devil's Third, and what feels like the inevitable DMC5 announcement, it's a good time to be an action game fan.

EDIT: I do wish these came in the same package, though. I miss when remasters did that. I guess companies got too wise to the fact that they can actually sell these things individually. At least they won't be full price.

Only thing that's missing would be an announcement by Platinum Games, that they are working on Metal Gear Rising 2.

I have it on PC, no need to buy it for PS4 because of that.
When I really appreciate a game I have to own it on PC.

One thing I hope to see is for them to never make another deal with Activision.

Korra was solid, so I wouldn't mind at all. I actually should've mentioned that in my last post.

Still need to finish it. But I still wish we could have gotten a full budget title made by Platinum. It could have been mind blowing.

Yeah, but you have to take the battles you can. The odds of any company, especially Activision, giving a real budget to a cartoon tie-in game is pretty low. I think we got a solid effort, all things considered.

Thats still done. Most of the remasters for this gen have merely been games that were released in the previous year before the new consoles launch and many of which were new IPs so there was nothing to pack them with. Metro Redux came in a collection as will the upcoming FFX/X-2 HD. This DmC/DMC4 news is the first of a series getting 2 remasters this gen and they not be released together

Only thing that's missing would be an announcement by Platinum Games, that they are working on Metal Gear Rising 2.

that should never happen

Oh yeah, I forgot about Metro, I keep thinking it's one game. But FFX/X-2 I count as previous gen, as the PS4 game will probably just be a port of the PS3 title. We'll see, but I think it's pretty clear the direction these are taking.

For being a game that needed to be salvaged and made playable by Platinum Games, I had tons of fun with it. That whole last final boss battle, is easily one of my favorite gaming moments. It was just bat **** crazy. I'd gladly play a second MGR game. Especially if they have more time to work on it.

Agreed. MGR deserves a fully developed sequel.

Considering the situation surrounding Rising, I think it turned out as good as it possibly could. A proper game with a proper time frame and budget would be great to see.

Theres also the Master Chief Collection which just came out not too long

Glad someone liked it. I had nothing but contempt for that title and wish it had stayed on the cutting room floor

I have no idea what that is suppose to indicate.

I thought you of all people would get it. :(

[BLACKOUT]It's supposed to be a joke on the "this party's getting crazy!" from DMC3. [/BLACKOUT]

Um...sorry, I have failed you. It's either been too long or I'm brain-farting.
